I am perplexed by the club's current thinking during this current open transfer window. I feel that the club is trying to fool the loyal supporters. There's no rhyme nor reason to attempt to do this to the club's stakeholders. It's so off the wall even humpty dumpty would struggle to stay on an even keel. Look what happened to him. RUFC must read this board. They must also know that most supporters want to see gradual improvement in the playing squad without breaking the bank. As has been alluded to already. Where's the money gone from player sales?
It's worrying. We've lost our best keeper, kept Mr Punch & lost Kieffer to Tarn all in the space of a couple of hours. I obviously hope Kieffer breaks his leg in five places on his Barnsley debut ( joking of course?). Let's see what happens re the incomings, Im guessing a 37 yr old CB & a 16 yr old striker from Chelsea or summat.
Hadn't spotted that Moore had now actually signed for Barnsley 'til I saw your post Brad.
Sad, but if he's gone for a reported £750k to a Championship side I can swallow that better than £250k to Peterborough.
We were never going to pay £750k, but at £250k we should have beaten that bid... (although we probably wouldn't have)
... and you are probably right about the signings we do eventually make, assuming we do (A goalkeeper surely, possibly Rodak on a perm basis... I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if that is our 'big signing' announced towards the end of Jan)

I searched 'NewsNow; for transfer rumours for RUFC. Nothing on there about this, but second on the list was BradtheMiller talking about Kenny Jackett leaving us...... lol
at least we are a bit more up to date than that!!!
Please not Michael Smith! I despair . Look on Bury supporters website (gigglane.com). Sale of the century and offering to drive him to Rotherham ! What levels are we sinking to ?
great signing taking an experienced striker from a championship club or one from the top of league 1 is great news...............wait a minute................bury???????? the team at the bottom of the league.........................absolutely insane, that is beyond belief
if we sign him then it shows we have packed in for this season and are hoping to win 6 more and stay up with no investment, especially if we let Frecks go.
Stop misleading us ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ARRRGGHHHHHHHH
Why is it so hard to just tell the truth, the board are losing respect of the fans and it is all down to misleading statements and avoiding the reality
Talking about losing respect for the fans.....I remember at the start of last season the bile and insults leveled at the board and several managers ( who we now know we're working with both hands tied ) was disgraceful.
The "fans" were appalling.
Ok - some fans were appalling !
But read back to the disgraceful abuse the chairman got.....I wonder ?
From those days the plug has been pulled and PW put in place to take us down ( guaranteed )
TS might just be putting the proverbial two fingers up to the mouthy morons who shout the loudest.
Might not the whole picture - but perhaps significant. I know if I was putting so much money into the club I would not appreciate abuse from "the fans".

Michael Smith - if its right it doesn't look very inspiring, but he is a Warne type target man.
Not many people were thrilled when we signed Moore, or Proctor for that matter. Now we are gutted to lose Moore and wish Proctor was fit.
The signs are that we haven't got a bean to spend. I am with those who say that all we really want is honesty. It has been done to death, but we were told about the top five budget and the Ward money being there to spend on new players come January and to date there is no sign of it. There are three weeks to go, but so far it looks like we are shuffling the pack rather than strengthening the squad. O'Donnell out, Moore lost, rumours Frecks is going, Onniarise farmed out. Time will tell.
I was at Bolton when Redfearn got dogs abuse after Bolton robbed us in the last minute. It made me feel sick to my stomach. He was hounded out unfairly in my opinion. I was also at Barnsley when Stubbs got something similar. Stubbs didn't help himself because he was never willing to engage with the supporters and they never really engaged with him, but still it was disgraceful what was being directed at him. But I don't for one minute think that Tony Stewart wants us to fail. Stewart himself says when it suits him) that its a results business and he talks big, and encourages people to (literally) buy into it, so up to a point he has to accept criticism when we fall short.
". But I don't for one minute think that Tony Stewart wants us to fail."
Not fail - that would be bad business - but pulling the plug on player investment and settling for a mid table league one club - with a yes man manager.
Mid-table league 1 represents failure for a man who has always said that he wants to be competing in the Championship. And it is bad business. I doubt there is a club that has ever turned a profit being mid-table league one.
Whether he has what it takes to meet his own targets I don't know. I suspect he is a man who is used to setting targets and achieving them. I can't imagine that he would be content to plod along in the lower leagues long-term and prop the club up. What would be the point?
There is a whiff of a closing down sale in the air. Just then three wise men appear from the east bearing gifts, one of which is gold. Are we about to witness a buyout by one of the aforementioned wise men? It gets curiouser and curiouser.
the gripe i have with tony are his statements which are said with intent. but he has failed to back them up excluding the stadium.
we cant afford to return to the days of evans revolving door. the other fact that worries me is the ground is separated from the club. how many other clubs have done this.
could it be that any other from of income that the clubs gains other than turnstile for rufc matches would affect the revenue of the club and thats why he split it off
tony didnt help himself with the top 5 budget quote as to date excluding wages we spent 75K on proctor odonnell was a free and i know that for a fact i know wages are part of the budget.
warne knows we have to replace moore with a target man if we cant get someone then put ajayi up front and play onarise (oops he has gone on loan or maybe dom ball again not at the club in defence so he leaves himself with limited options.
because unless jch plays like messi in the next couple of games he needs to go end of yates is good at stretching and tiring defenders his touch lets him down.
so today is thursday the usual signing day lets wait and see
ps we had trialist with the reserves any clue who it was
