Doidge is being heavily linked with Cardiff. Its a story that seems to have something to it. Warnock loves having seven strikers on the books and Doidge might be number eight. I haven't seen enough of him to have an opinion on him, but as ever, if there is interest from a Championship club in Doidge we are not going to be at the races. But if Warnock is buying Doidge, might he have a cast off he could throw in our direction? I don't know if he has been injured (always a chance of that with him) but Danny Ward has hardly played since going to Cardiff. He has started six league and two league cup games and been used mostly as a late sub. I think if fit he could do a job in League One, and we all know he has a great relationship with Warney.

I like many fans want jch to be a success at our club, unfortunately despite the many chances he has had under the numerous managers we had excluding stubb and jackett as he was out injured

i just think in his head he is a better player than he is some of that has to be down to the coaching system at our club or they are just not able to get into his head you cant teach pork as the saying goes

is he an adequate replacement for moore as it looks like he is going to barnsley IN MY OPINION NO to inconsistent

One of my concerns is that Pringle will return to NYS now that he is out of favour with other clubs.

Totally agree Wotsisname. Preston contact tells me he's way past his "sell by" date, chronically slow and will struggle to get another league club.

Preston North End midfielder Ben Pringle is set to leave the club to join League 1 strugglers Oldham Athletic on loan, according to HITC Sport.

The 28-year-old has not played at all under Alex Neil at Deepdale, being named on the bench twice in the league but not taking to the pitch on either occasion.

He will hope to kickstart his career again at Oldham, who sit just one point and one place above the League One relegation places under Richie Wellens.

Jack Byrne has left the club at the end of his loan spell, to return to Wigan Athetic, who sit top of the third tier and will be looking at Pringle to fill the gap.

like the guy dont see what apart from his ability at set pieces wpuld bring to the team as we already have williams and newell

and to be honest pringle wouldnt defend

Pringle on loan for the rest of the season? Newell has gone backwards, Williams is a right winger. Neither of those 2 have a tackle in them. Pringle got a footballing brain on him. He could never tackle back or beat a man. Beckham couldn't but both same but with different feet can cross a ball as good as anyone + not a bad shot on them either.

So.. O'Donnell leaves for Northampton on a 2.5 year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Interesting that their manager, who had a goalie on loan is quoted as saying:

"Hasselbaink added that he did not want to risk relying on loan player Ingram as his first-choice keeper for the rest of the campaign, in case he was recalled."

For the same reason I assume that means we are about to sign another keeper or sign Rodak?

Good luck Richard.

We clearly are broke. He was better than Rodak and now who do we have - Pollitt on the bench anyone?

It's worrying. We've lost our best keeper, kept Mr Punch & lost Kieffer to Tarn all in the space of a couple of hours. I obviously hope Kieffer breaks his leg in five places on his Barnsley debut ( joking of course?). Let's see what happens re the incomings, Im guessing a 37 yr old CB & a 16 yr old striker from Chelsea or summat.

As LenTheMiller says on another thread, O'Donnell was probably marginally than Rodak. Both have been prone to error, but when O'Donnell made even half a mistake he was left out immediately whereas Rodak was given more slack. Clearly Warne fancies Rodak more of the two, and understandably after a lot of understudy time in his career O'Donnell and at his age D'Donnell wants to be playing. It leaves us with a loanee plus Price. Not sure what the terms of Rodak's loan are but if he is recalled or injured we will be struggling. All a bit puzzling, unless we have a replacement already lined up.

Most business in this Window is done towards the end of the month, so I think we will have to be patient before leaping to doom and gloom conclusions. Hopefully though it won't be just loans and has-beens. We have had too many of them in recent times and look where it has got us. We have to be realistic though - as soon as there is a Championship club interested in any player we are not going to be in the frame.

It's interesting that since Warne publicly proclaimed that Rodak was his No.1 keeper, he has played a lot better and results have gone our way. I was disappointed for O'Donnell who didn't seem to have done much wrong when he was dropped, but to be honest he was never a dependable keeper for us. Out of the two, Warne probably considers Rodak has the greatest capacity for improvement and hence O'Donnell was allowed to leave. Having said that, there has to be a plan to either purchase Rodak permanently or to bring in a No.2 during this window?

So RUFC  the plan is to develop rodak who is not our player which benefits us how long term? we will need another goalie in the summer now  ffs add that

right back central defender 2 central midfielders and 2 strikers

As we wont buy him either due to the fee or wages as tony wont pay the going rate. Its becoming more and more obvious now that that the TOP FIVE BUDGET IS ACTUALLY THE TOP FOR BUYING NO ONE

One of the things that odonnell signed for was  playing regularly and relocating  north so he was near his family. So now warne and his old boys gang  have sold him for a fee  allegedly when we got him on a free

So that leaves us with sick note price who.last time.he played kicked every ball out to touch or young bilboe as number 2. So warne what happens if Fulham has a goal keeping crisis and they recall Rodak??? what will you do then

so it looks like we will sign a injury prone striker or a mardy teenager on loan dont want either

Wouldn't surprise me if wally warne signs revell

whose next to go JCH and frecks????

I think our chairman wants us in L2 - that's where we are financially comfortable and he won't have to fend off offers of investment. I just can't see where our strategy is other than to pull out any cash by selling anyone who we get an offer for. PW is the perfect fall guy too and it will all be his fault in the end.

I have thought so and said for a while all tony wanted was an infrastructure to  generate income

why arent we signing players like this
BRANNAGAN TO OXFORD

Liverpool’s young central midfielder Cameron Brannagan could be on his way to League One Oxford United.

The 21-year old has made eight appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side but has struggled for first team opportunities.

The fee is believed to be around £200,000.
