'Likely to be loans in Jan'....

Well, well, well, - after all the fat we've chewed on here recently doesn't that just prove one or 2 things, and those of us without RUFC specs on can see what's going on?

If the loan deals fall through, and they will, we'll then be informed by RUFC management that 'we will have to go with what we've already got'.

Top 5 budget my ar5e!

There is no ambition left is there.... as we have said on here for a while.

I assume TS is looking for a buyer, even if he doesn't say so. I just hope we don't drop down into real financial trouble again, I'm not sure my heart coudl take that....

Certainly, League 2 looks like when not if, unless we get VERY lucky.

Conclusive proof that we're skint, why the hell doesn't TS admit it. If (& it's a big if) we manage to stay up it'll be a minor miracle.

Come Jan, Moore goes back, we bring in a 30+ year old has been nobody else wants or a 20 year old kid some premier league side wants to get game time and we are F'ckd. Warne seems to have no issues with the defence stating he doesn't need a defensive coach so we keep leaking at our end and the goals for column slides to a stop. Sorry but if we survive in this league with this management team and by that i mean from the owner right down to the sponge man i will be gob smacked crynocryno

Yet again the club makes statements that build up hopes (and perhaps encourage people to buy tickets) then the reality doesn't live up to them.

On the face of it the statement from Warne that it will be loans:-

1. Doesn't fit with the supposed model of targeting promising players and bringing them in and building value into them; and
2. Doesn't seem consistent with what we were told about the Ward money being available in January.; and
3. Doesn't seem to square with the top five budget line.

If at the start of the season they had said that we blew some money trying to live in The Championship and that money would be a bit tight and they needed us to rally round they would have got support I am sure. But the mixed messages will just be greeted (understandably) with shaking of heads, scepticism and in the end a bit of anger.

I would add that this comes shortly after a 'clear the air' forum. Is it time for another one, or at least some further statement from the top to clarify things?

The only possible glimmer of light is the hint from Warne that we would make money available to buy Moore if we could get him, but we have seen this before - we will say we bid for him, won't get him and the money supposedly available will never be seen again. Bradshaw/Gregory anyone? Maybe we are playing down our spending power to stop teams quoting us inflated prices, but at the moment I am one of the sceptics.

Disappointing.

How much has Roundwood cost? - seems we don't have the cash to spend on both the backend of the club and on the field and a choice has been made, put the backend in place hopefully not go down again (hence Warney's 1yr contract), then go again next summer? That to me makes some sense, are we still paying old contracts of people no longer with us? if so will that spending be done in the summer?

Whatever it is, the smoke & mirrors appraoch is not going to sit comfortably with a lot of supporters. There's no shame in transparency and saying this is is how it is, this is how we're going to address it and in X time we'll be back to square one and can go again.

If people feel cheated they won't come back - end of.

Gaz do you go to the games cause I haven't seen you. I don't mind someone knocking the club if they back them. If they don't I'm not interested & there view is immaterial.

This proves a lot of fans right and makes the "wait until Jan. Paul warne for pope" gang look stupid. What we now know is

1. Warne was appointed because he is cheap and we haven't the money for a professional manager

2. We are stuck with Warne no matter how bad he is and how many times he makes the same mistakes, even if we go down

3. The club have financial issues that are being kept from the fans until it is too late

4. We cannot believe anything that the board say about ambition or finances

5. We will leak goals all season

6. Our main striker is leaving and we are going to wait over a month for a loan player to come in that might not be as good

7. Most loan deals are done in the last day or so once teams know what deals they have been able to complete, so forget Dec and Jan no fresh blood or ideas until Feb

Wish I hadn't been banned off facebook now to see what the guys that polish his turd have to say now

 Absolutely right!!!!

In effect we have no football club that we can call 'ours'. The grounds not ours so the only asset the 'club' has is its fixture list and the revenue generated there from. A squad made up principally or at least shored up with other clubs players is hardly something the fans can have much affinity with. IN effect does a 'Rotherham united' as we would like to think, exist at all. The more I analyse it the more I come to the conclusion the whole outfit is smoke and mirrors with no heart or soul or inherent identity, except that which the crowd bring into NYS on match days. The fans who are now the last vestige of a 'Rotherham United'

And I thought that we had left behind the soulless and remote stadium that was Don Valley. Yet here in 2017 apathy has now set in and I wonder whether it's worth watching a group of players who appear to have been cobbled together and called Rotherham United. Every Summer there is a change of playing personnel. There is a mixed start to the season followed by a calamitous dip in the team's form. Some of the playing squad are here on loan. Some of the players don't give 100% and some are not technically gifted. It's a mishmash of individuals, some of whom are not even team players.

Top 5 budget? It's more like Groundhog Day.

As it happens I withdrew my support for the board and current management team at the end of last season. I am one of those with balls that refuse to pay into the TS empire whilst RUFC is left to rot until it is of no more significant financial support to afore mentioned empire. I still follow every game by social media and radio but refuse to give £50 a week plus a season ticket to a man who is breaking promises on a damn regular basis.

I this does not fit your opinion of what a supporter should be, hey that's your decision, no one asks you to read posts on here and i wont loose any sleep over your view that mine are immaterial.

On whole Tony Stewart owns the club lock stock and barrel and has broken it up in to separate entities probably for tax reasons

i don' t really care how he has structured the club . what i care about are the well publicized promises that tony has made

1) new stadium promise kept

2) championship within 5 seasons kept and delivered early

3) budget to remain in championship broken

4) top manager kept twice but both left

5) top 5 budget not delivered so far

RUFC supporters still wearing rose tinted glasses should read all the above posts and tell me with hands on hearts that we've not been had by RUFC management.

The Golden Goose also cannot be called upon to offer up any of its gold  feathers to help support the top 5 budget. The Goose is  living quite happily ever after. It is just another Grimm story with a hint of a fairy tale of New York doing the rounds around this time of year.
