in for some Sunday morning training? It appears that the players need to be reminded of their roles and responsibilities. It is apparent that they are becoming perpetually forgetful. They appear to keep leaving their creativity, flashes of skill and inspiration on the training ground.

Just a thought.
UTM!
Dont think it matters what day of the week they are called in for training so long as they keep playing to the plan laid out of late. I would have thought a quick half hour down the park on Saturday morning should cover the big lump up front as soon as you have the ball
A visit to the park might be a good idea. But Warney will have to keep the players off the swings and roundabouts. Some are too easily distracted and lose concentration.
No point in having them in when it's patently obvious Warne and Barker are devoid of any coaching skills other than 60's style hoof it. Fear the developing slide will accelerate but while ever our chairman is collecting his ground rent I doubt he'll be bothered.
I wonder how team training's been going this week?
Wonder if there's there been any talk of passing, shooting, ball control, defending crosses, team bonding and more importantly fitness training coupled with diet? This is not by any stretch an exhaustive list.
Warney has done his A badge, therefore is well versed on the England DNA. That is not translating onto the pitch though, he can't force players to do exactly what he wants when they go over the white line, it's then down to their decision making process. Unfortunately we buy crap players, who are only so far technicially gifted, more taught by rote. When things don't go well on the field they resort to panic hoof, again the trademark of poor quality players and ones which are lacking in self belief and confidence.
I'm sure if Warney had the cash he's not daft, far from it, he'd be able to get us playing more regularly in the style of the first 10 games. I don't think experience comes anywhere into it, he played for a long time. He knows what it means to be a small fish and what is required to punch above and get the sum of parts to go above individual talent, he opitomised it as a player.
Yes it looks bleak atm but like all before him, he can only work with what he's got, and what we've got is not 'top 5 budget', and I think we're all coming around to the thinking that whatever comes out of the Chairman's mouth in the media is to be taken with a pinch of salt. Here's an interesting one - when was the last time we sang the Chairman's name? It's admirable his company is propping up our season losses, but those losses will be loans, akin to the Boothys (remember when we were up for sale and more expensive than QPR because of it?). But those losses, will be really interested to see the impact upon it of the rank bad decisions making of the board and repetitive mistakes we've made over the last 3 years.
Financially we're not in good standing, off the field it is mediocre (but getitng better with Roundwood), and we rent our ground. That is the reality. I think a lot of the business model was relying on G&C, and the units around the ground, this hasn't come to fruition, we've lost how much in potential revenues? Such a shame that we got to where we were and it was ripped apart in an instant. I knew it when we didn't sign Tavs or Dickho - the warning signs were there then.

tony has split the club business into different bits porbably for tax reasons and would make it very hard for someone to take it overr

It reads as though some of the players aren't tough enough mentally. I also think that some of the current squad aren't brave enough either when on the field of play.
I don't get it when players get praise for effort. Its the minimum requirement. But effort alone gets you nowhere. You could give a bunch of supporters out of the North Stand the eleven shirts and I am sure they would run their blood to water for the cause but they would lose 30-0 to Wigan. As it happens though I do think the effort that two or three put in on Saturday was lacking. And I also agree with Splinter that the players at the moment aren't being 'brave' in that they don't have the confidence either in their own ability or what they are being asked to do to really influence the game.

Exellent post. Just about nails the whole bag of mashings that the 'club' has become
