Don't agree. Need direct players in this league. 4-4-2ish O'Donnell; Emmanuel Ajayi Wood Mattock; Williams Vaulks Potter Wiles; Moore JCH. Mattock can get down the left, Johno plays on that side.
What formation you play depends on how you want to play. If we are going to be direct and knock everything up to Kieffer Moore then fine, but it is pointless doing that if he is up front on his own. So its an either/or.
If we are going to play direct long ball stuff then go 4-4-2 with a couple of wingers, two solid holding midfielders and someone buzzing around close to Moore. There is nothing wrong with playing that way and it can still involve good football.
If we are going to try and get it down, keep possession, look to break quickly from midfield and move the ball quickly then go 4-5-1.
What we mustn't do is fall into the trap of banging everything long to a lone striker and hoping for the best just on the basis that he is a big unit.
Personally I think without Proctor we are short of quality strikers but we have a lot of good midfield players, so to suit the players we have I would go 4-5-1 and scream at them to pass and move. Chuck Jonno on and go 4-4-2 as a back up plan.
I'd go with O'Donnell: ***mings, Ajayi, Wood, Mattock: Frecks, Potter, Williams, Towell: Ball and Moore. Saving Newell and Taylor (if available) as late impact players. Hopefully we can revert to our high pressing game with a lot more creativity in midfield now that the key players are fit again.
If it all goes to rats, bring on David Bentley, Roy Tunks, Steve Downes, Trevor Womble and Johnny Quinn at half time who are all guests of John Breckin on Saturday!

true but we cant rely on long ball to moore because if mick calls him back who would play in the position jch ?
cos lets be honest if we can not afford to buy moore then we are not going to get a quality championship league goal scorer to replace him in january on a permanent contract
JCH seemed interested for a change last week so he's worth a punt this week. Newell cannot play down the middle again - it's a failed experiment tried over and over . Sooner or later he has to try the JCH and Ball combo because that's our 2018 strike force.
