I was going to go today but thought what is the point, it is an away game and we leak goals, guess what I was right. After that shocking display last week it is great to see keeping the players in the dressing room and the training work, failed awfully, for me the problem is when it is going bad the players won't have the respect for Warne for him to discipline them. A strong team knocked out of the another cup and another 2 goals, 11 goals in 4 games looks like nobody has a clue about defending at this club
Very, very poor. We are leaking soft goals to very ordinary teams. Three at Oxford and it could have been more. Fair enough, they are a decent side and we fought back to get a good point. But with all respect to them Wimbledon, Gillingham and Crewe are no great shakes and they haven't had to work too hard for their goals. Defensively we are a shambles. We don't seem to be pressing as hard as much as we were earlier in the season and we are slipping into the habit of launching it to Moore just because he is up there.
Somehow we are sixth in the league, so all is not lost. But we need to turn the form around before we slide too far into bad habits.
Our style has been sussed and our inept management team seem incapable of change. Fear we are on a downward spiral and it will end in tears for Warne. My worry is that when it happens our esteemed chairman will promote Barker.
Looking at the goals back on BBC site, O'Donnell had a stinker for them both. It wasn't a game we should ever have lost. It is bitterly disappointing. I couldn't give a monkeys about the Bradford game but hopefully we will be at it for the Donny game next Saturday in front of nearly 4000 travelling fans. We need to keep picking up league points to stay comfortable until January then quite a bit of work to do.
I am beyond angry right now. How dare they (players) stroll over & clap the 600+ deluded prats( myself included) who WASTED their time trying to support them. Take away Vaulks & Williams, the rest of the arrogant sods should not draw their inflated pay packets this month.
O'Donnell was appalling, to blame for BOTH goals, Newell, despite having a fine first 25 minutes went to sleep for the rest of the game, Emmanuel isn't even a right back so why play him at LB, HE WAS EMBARRASSINGLY BAD!!, Ball was a yard off the pace (lack of game time?), Ajayi was clumsy, as was ***mings, Moore worked hard but was largely innefective, blah blah etc yet I was reasonably happy at HT. God only knows what happened in the second half, overconfidence probably as Crewe were consistently poor in both halves. The fans anger at the final whistle was palpable.
I was also going to go yesterday but was ill so didn't travel, thank god. Something is not right at the moment- I've got my Donny tickets but having horrible flashbacks to Oakwell on that miserable day last year. I'm not going to have a go at Warne but I'm glad I said my fork was ready and that I hadn't started eating my humble pie...
we need to see some evidence of the defensive errors being addressed in the next few games or we need to start asking if Warne has it in him to resolve problems. He can clearly motivate and has the guys putting a shift in but he can surely see all these goals being conceded from crosses and we need to see that he can do something about it....
