A real test this one. The best side to visit the NYS since Charlton made us look pretty ordinary and took the points. As a rule they don't concede many, and they have some quality forwards with an eye for a goal, but their recent form isn't great
I anticipate a tight game, and our first draw of the season. 1-1 in front of a crowd of 9,125.
I reckon we can win this one, as you say Smiler, their form is poor at this point of the season, and hopefully we can exploit that. Reckon they will bring a few so I expect to be pushing for 9800 crowd.
Apparently as at yesterday they had sold 800 tickets. Hopefully a combination of our form, top half opposition and a good weather day will get the casual home support out and some pay on the day away fans across. It will be disappointing if they don't bring 1500 or close. I think it is their first ever visit to NYS. It would be good to see the crowd figure nudging towards 10,000.
Its good to think that if we win we will really be pushing on, but if we don't win we are still going to be fine. No real pressure. It sounds like they are a bit fragile a the moment, so maybe an early goal could set up a comfortable win. We have seen what we can do when we score early at home. The interesting thing for me would be how we react if they score first. The only time that has happened (Charlton) we got a bit anxious an lost our way a bit.
I agree Smiler, there is a momentum building and i for one can see it, fitness levels building nicely.
The players are not pulling out of challenges, and when Rochdale went all feral in the tackling department last week, we never reacted, we let the ref , ref the game.
New Milllers hero Ryan Williams must have had some bruises but performed like a true miller, one of the best signings by PW.
I reckon PW will have learned his lesson against Charlton. We stood off them, gave them time on the ball in midfield and made them look good - even Foster-Caskey looked useful and we all know that's not the case! I hope Warne's approach will be our usual home tactics of high tempo, high pressing, action football. We have the midfield and attack to cause most teams in this League problems and I hope tomorrow is no different.
S****horpe only muster just over 4,000 for their home games so I wouldn't be surprised if they bring no more than 1,000 tomorrow. Having been to the pre-season friendly at their place last year, I would imagine coming to NYS might be a decent day out for them - particularly as they have a new stadium in the offing and they may want to see what life in the fast lane is all about!
I'll go for 4-2 and 9100 attendance. As Smiler says, no real pressure, so it's just great to be able to go along and enjoy the day.
