so jackett has finally lifted the lid a little on why he left with the quote
Did the parameters move? No not necessarily. I take full responsibility. ‘It didn’t work out. I read the people wrong and I read the situation wrong. ‘So unfortunately I had to move on quickly.’
I don't particularly care who he read wrong. The fact is, for a respected and professional manager he messed up big time and on top of the almighty mess up by his incompetent predecessor, contributed to leaving this club in a lamentable position. Add in the enormous bills that the club has faced including paying out Redfearn's contract and forking out a premium for the services of Warnock, together with the vast amounts wasted on the majority of AS's signings including the infamous Blackstock debacle, and you begin to understand why the club is currently exercising care with it's funds!
It's with this perspective in mind that I judge the performance of the current manager. Ignoring what has happened over the past year would only lead to unrealistic expectations.
Onwards and upwards.
Jackett left because he was no doubt told we had a "top 5 budget" and forgot to ask "in which division?". Northern Counties premier probably is the answer. I'd have left too if you were talked into a job and discovered that the chances of success were zero, or less. PW can't hark on about the past this season - it's his squad, playing his way under his management.

too right im ready for more effluent excuses on why we didnt get a striker etc etc etc etc
So through recent times we've had almost as many managers through the door as players. Through out that time there's been one set of constants. So who do I blame? I think you all know
His last game in charge was that strange match against Leeds where Odemwingie let everybody down, and Camp got that funny injury which seemed innocuous and never really got explained or spoken about but he was never seen or heard from again. I don't know, but I have always wondered whether or not either of those two things had any direct bearing on Jackett leaving. There was certainly a lot more to it then we have ever been told. I don't really buy the Tony Stewart line that he left for absolutely no apparent reason. That just doesn't make sense. Jacketts latest account is a bit cryptic but hints at him finding something out that he didn't like after he signed up. He has always seemed a thoroughly decent and well respected man who has stuck around a long while wherever he was until he reached us. I don't have a problem with him.
