We have signed Fulhams third choice keeper on a season long loan.
His league experience = about 20 games for Accrington Stanley last season.
I suspect this will be the last we will see of Price. No bad thing, but to be honest however talented the young lad is (and I am sure he is and good luck to him) I am not sure that yet another inexperienced player at the heart of our defence is what we need.
If the centre back we are apparently after is in a similar mould, I will be shaking my head in disbelief.
No offence to any of the players concerned. Sometimes teams need young legs and enthusiasm but right now defensively we are crying out for a bit of leadership and experience. If Wood still had the legs he would be ideal, but I am afraid he hasn't. I was and still am hoping to read something like 'Millers sign 28 year old centre back (insert name of player who has seen plenty of league one before) on a two year deal'.
This latest signing is just reinforcing the impression that we are trying to do things on the cheap.
Doesn't inspire confidence does it? I agree Price is just taking up a wage & O'Donnell's performances haven't been the best so far but Fulham's THIRD choice keeper is hardly an inspirational signing is it? If we do sign a CB let's hope he's not 17 & a "prospect".
Every move Warne & his staff make smells of "clutching at straws" rather than Tony's fabled top 5 budget.
Brad, the 6k solid supporters may not be qualified coaches but we aren't all idiots either (not all of us). We need a signing that is going to make a real difference, not paper over cracks. And we have plenty of cracks. Actions speak louder than words. How many of the signings Warne has made have actually improved what was a diabolically bad side that we ended last season with? Remember we lost our two best players Ward and Adeyemi from that 24 point squad. Purrington (I know he came in last season) no better than Mattock. Emmanuel - Fisher all over again. ***mings - apparently behind Vaulks as a right back. Potter - different player than Richie Smallwood but not an improvement. On evidence so far, Proctor works hard and looks decent and Moore gives us an extra dimension, Ihiekwe looks decent and David Ball - not seen enough yet but he has a decent track record. Thats about it. I love the club and want to get behind them but I think we are being taken for fools.
I cannot believe the negativity on this site - well, yes I can because it's about the only emotion ever expressed on MB! We desperately need a keeper so the manager does the business - good on him. Yes, he's Fulham's third choice but do you think for one moment that we could afford their 2nd or 1st choices? I seem to remember another London based third choice keeper who came in temporarily and he was the best home keeper to ever stand between the sticks at NYS.
We're 4+2 games into the season and in two of those matches we've been disappointing. In the other 4 we've performed between good and bloody marvellous. In my opinion Warne has intelligently gathered a group of players who have the potential to become a potent League 1 unit. He's brought in fire power with Proctor and Moore, wide mid-field skill in Williams (one bad game), experience and holding mid-field ability in Potter (one bad game), athletic and skillful CBs in Ajayi and Ihiekwe, and good quality full backs in Emmanuel, ***mings and Purrington. Yes, there's some naivety and lack of leadership in some areas, but he's got the ingredients and he now needs time for them to gel. And don't forget he's also got rid of an awful lot of detritus left by his illustrious predecessors.
The keeper is the key area of concern in the current team. The current in***bent has contributed to numerous conceded goals already and has instilled a nervy lack of confidence in the CBs and it is vital that he is either replaced or has someone pushing him for the first team shirt. Rather than looking for downsides in this transfer, celebrate the fact that we have a manager who has identified a problem and has made moves to resolve it. If it turns out to be a disaster, by all means vent your anger. But for now give him a break for goodness sake.
Glen Miller Williams is worst than what we've got. Potter his best days are behind him. Emmanuel is not a footballer. You've got to able to pass & cross a ball to qualify for that. Rest of the signings give them the benefit of the doubt. Need abit of experience at Centre back but not past his best & some younger legs in central midfield. Plenty of games then to catch up.

Sorry Glenn, I respect your opinion but I think you are wide of the mark. I think when you break it down we have a Chairman promising us a trip to Harrods and a bloke who has only just passed his driving test giving us a lift to Lidl. Tony has given Warney a one year deal, and he will not be given time to get them to gel. We were diabolical last season - an embarrassing product of numerous mistakes made over a long period of time. We needed to take the opportunity that relegation presented us with to re-boot. We were told we would have a top five budget and a push for promotion. What we have seen is that a lot of poor players are still with us, and to them we have added (with a couple of notable exceptions) an assortment of waifs and strays. Kids on loan from Championship clubs and out of contract players from teams we should be aspiring to be above. If tomorrow brings the expected couple of youngsters, on loan or otherwise, I will be writing to Tony Stewart to seek some clarification and reassurance. In the absence of a fans forum, and given that the local media seem to be unable or unwilling to ask any probing questions, that may be my only hope of getting any real information although I shan't be holding my breath.
Warne says his latest arrival, Marek Rodak is currently on international duty with Slovakia, and will compete with Richard O’Donnell and Lewis Price for a place between the sticks.
Wonder if Marek Rodak knows that he is going to join us?
Arsenals third choice keeper (Martinez) was and was always likely to be very good. The last time we took a mid table Championship clubs third choice keeper on loan it was Kelle Roos. Enough said.
We have got our own young goalkeeper Bilboe. What does this say about his prospects? When will he ever get a chance? If he isn't up to it why is he still on the staff?
I can't believe people are happy that we have taken a kid on loan from who is third choice with a team one league above us. Is that really how good (or bad) our own keepers are? And is that the limit of our ambition? It is embarrassing.
The cash is gone with season after season going over budget & rolling on into the next one, that snowball has finally come to a head.
We have no money, we've maxed out the card - now we gotta use time to just mess around in the lower reaches of L1 until the point comes we can hopefully start to spend again and not repeat the same mistakes.
With all due respect you can't say that for certain unless you have access to TS bank account. They can always put more cash in from their own fortune. It's probably more likely he's got bored of it and doesn't want to chuck any more cash at it. I expect us to be sold at some point soon.
