From what I've seen of Purrington he's incredibly ordinary. Did we really pay £300k pay for him? Someone's judgment (recruitment man ?) needs seriously examining. Can't honestly see anybody wanting JCH.
Stick with the team that beat Southend. They played well enough to deserve the chance to do it again, and by all accounts (I couldn't be there to see it) they were a shade unlucky to lose at Peterborough.
Watch out for JCH to Mansfield on loan.
I find it hard to get excited by players who don't have an obvious attribute. I don't particularly rate Jon Taylor but I get that his pace represents a threat and that he works really hard. I can see that Emannuel is quick, strong and athletic albeit there is room for improvement. Moore's size and strength mean that he will always be a real handful even if he has an off day. Richie Smallwood always at least put a good shift in. But from what I have seen of Purrington so far I don't really yet get what it is that he is good at, nor do I see obvious potential. Hopefully it is just a matter of form and perhaps given a run in the side he will improve.
Emmanuel I'd send him back. If you can't pass or cross a ball you aren't ready for this level of football. We've got Vaulks & ***mings. Purrington give him the shirt lets see what he can do. There's something there. Taylor works hard but he's not a winger. Sooner see Bray on the left, cover for Newell. Centre backs, Ajayi & Ihiekwe doesn't work. Wood is slowing down. Do Ball better option but be lucky if he's even on the bench.
Williams Frecks Potter Newell; Proctor Moore as good if not better than most sides in this league with Da Ball to come on in attach or midfield. Need a midfielder, right age/fit. Potter & Frecks can they play 2 games in a week?
