RUFC v Huddersfield U21s, this is a Checkatrade Trophy to them. Weird isn't how 3-4 months we were in the same league, and now utterly light years apart
They went light years ahead of us when they brought in Wagner ,similar budget as Miller's but used it a lot more wisely, said in previous posts that's the way we should have gone ,someone entirely different to our usual same thinking managers ,thought head of recruitment should have sorted that one.
Not having a go at Warney here but I still believe he would be better as fittness coach not manager.
But we've got what we've got and I'm behind him for the sake of our club.

... yes, all of which means there is no reason why it couldn't have been us, or won't be one day. I've never agreed with people who say our club/town is too small to be up there, we just need the right decisions, some investment and a lot of luck one season....
The good thing about Huddersfield getting to the premier league is it gives smaller clubs hope that it can be achieved.
Barnsley and Blackpool did it years ago and to some extent Bournemouth (Chelsea of the lower leagues) with the money they threw at it!
All said and done i would love to see my club if only for one season in with the big boys.As long as it doesn't bankrupt us.
The only problem in the future will be more strict fianancial fair play rules and the size of your income from crowds that means smaller clubs will stay small and bigger clubs will get bigger,And thats the exact opposite of what it is meant to do!
What did we all make of the draw debacle?
Newport County in the Northern draw and Burton in the Southern draw!
How can Newport play Leeds and Burton play Cardiff?
Newport is around 17 miles away from Cardiff to put it into perspective.
Huddersfield have a much bigger ground than us and like Bradford are able to offer reasonable ticket prices. Don't think our chairman will be able to say we have the same budget(ha ha) this season. They've already spent £33 million on 4 new players !
Not the competition immediately around them either. Huddersfield have always been and will be a 'bigger club' than us, in many ways. As it says above, the rules are in place to keep the little ones from overdoing themselves which is against the whole ethos of football. Never again will we see anyone do a Wimbledon and that's a crying shame on the game as a whole.
