Great day out with my little mate Jack.
Couple of pints of John's (£3.10) in Crown Inn near Widnes Station on arrival just after 12.
Down to Stadium at 1 which is home to Widnes Vikings Rugby, Widnes FC, Everton Ladies and Liverpool Ladies.
Photo's outside the Ground then into Legends Bar inside the Ground and had a couple of bottles of Newcastle Brown (£2.70)....unfortunatly no hot food on sale so had to make do with a curly pigging wurly and a bag of skittles....not exactly the gut filling fodder i was hoping for.
£5 into Ground........165 there in total.
Not the trouncing the scoreline suggests as both teams pretty well matched each other for most of the game but Handsworth took their chances while Widnes squandered theirs.
20 minute walk back to station after game and train pulled away just as we got onto platform....many expletives were used, especially as it was bouncing with rain at this time and the words damp dog and drowned rat came into being.
Silver lining was the oppurtunity to re-visit the Crown for another John's and a bowl of chips each to put us on.
£29.70 return on train straight back to Sheffield and then dropped on a train to Wombwell almost immediately.
Jack's Dad picked us up at Station and dropped me off near home at 8.10.
