Not been today so I can't comment on game but what I don't  understand is how Forde and Taylor get the nod over Newel , obviously  I'm going on last season which Newel was not brilliant  but I reckon he had a better season than other  two .

I'm with you Len.

Warne is fond of reminding people that he himself had little talent (actually he was more talented than he lets on) and got where he did through hard graft. It is clear that he values hard working players. Newell has a languid sort of style whereas Taylor in particular runs round like a mad thing, albeit to little effect. I can only think that has something to do with it.

We don't have a lot of quality. What we do have needs to be out there on the field.

At RUFC to become "a fans favourite" and therefore become an automatic pick by a manager looking to regain support you have to "run around like a mad thing" regardless of end product. To show some class and appear "lazy" is not in the club make up and not appreciated by the fee paying "fan"

I get the point Gaz but am not sure where that means you stand. Out of interest, would you pick Taylor ahead of Newell on the left of midfield?

Smiler: I would pick Taylor to serve the half time refreshments let alone 90 mins on a football pitch

Newell is probably our most talented player but oh so frustrating, To put it bluntly he's nesh. I would stick him in central midfield with orders to gaffer the game and if he can't or wont do it move him on. Keep hearing that Sheffield United fancy him. 100% agree with Gaz about Taylor. Should be nowhere near the first team.

Fair enough.  Some people can't see past the effort he puts in.  I would run my blood to water given the chance but I'd be useless.  Effort is nothing without ability to match.
