Press Ban ???

Mods,

Have our local press hounds been booted out or are they just staying away following the recent bout criticism on their reporting of the Paul Warne appointment and general running of the club ??

Both Paul Davis and Joe Cawthorn are posting on other social media

They have had quite a bit of stick on here as of late, and not without due cause.

For my part, I was finding the articles boring as they were usually made up of bits from previous statements etc, cut and paste, with very little real news, opinion, or questioning journalism. I stopped reading the links a long time ago, finding the resulting posts more informative, and entertaining from which I got all the info without having to read.

So maybe they have taken the hump.

I agree with towdlad just "click baiting" us to go to their crappy advert loaded websites and the articles have little insight. A bit of balanced and inquisitive journalism might have made it a worthwhile journey but they towed the line on PW.

Completely agree, seemed to be reporting only what the club (TS) wanted reporting. Was just wondering if they had been invited to leave or are just staying away by their own choice. As I say I've seen Joe online on here but he has not posted articles which have appeared on MM and FB.

Now back in my day, we had good old John Piper. A real old fashioned sports 'journo', knew the game, knew the club, and wasn't afraid to call a spade a spade. A font of knowledge about RUFC, its player going back well in the mists of time.

Now that guy was worth reading.

They've obviously spat their dummy out due to all the criticism they have received.

As others have said, they either haven't got the balls to ask the right questions or they're under orders not to.

Disappointing.

Not disappointing at all.If we want to read what Tony wants us to read, & think what Tony wants us to think, the Star & Tiser have the appropriate websites without their opinionless journos trying to peddle their frankly lazy wares on here.

Have to agree with Brad on this one.

So it's not disappointing that supposed journalists won't ask the questions that the clubs fans want answers to?

I personally think it is.

Kind of a different question, yes that is disappointing but if they are not able or willing to do it then I am not that interested in hearing the party line.

No Paul and Joe haven't been banned, and I'd find it bizarre if they'd colluded together to not post on here. I know there was some negative feedback from a certain article a couple of weeks back, but that wasn't just on here it was everywhere, for the particular tone set in the article.

Thanks for that info Ex, I'd find it a little strange also but both, even today, have posted on other forums but not here

All yesterday I was unable to post to the group! As when I clicked on anything it said private forum, so unable to make comment etc, good to see its all back up and running again.
Maybe that's why they didn't post😜
