Evans - massive player turnover and short term thinking. Redfearn - three year deal, long term project, bringing youth through. On to Warnock - totally the opposite, back to experienced pro's from 1 to 11 (except Grant Ward) and short term fixer. Dilly dallying with Warnock - hands shaken, men of their word. Then Warnock walks away and we need (according to Tony Stewart) a man with Championship experience and then appoint someone with none. Stubbs - another Redfearn, 3 year deal, change of style and youth important again. Sack him and we decide we need experience again so go for a safe pair of hands in Jackett. Bags of experience. Just what we need. Then, in extremis, in steps Warne. Never been a manager, never trained to be a manager, never wants to be a manager, but a good egg who will do the job nobody else wants. Not necessarily his fault, but no signs of any improvement under him. Nothing to suggest he was actually a manager in disguise as a fitness coach. He looks like what he is - a fitness coach in the hot seat. Now all of a sudden he is apparently the man for the job. Based on what???
Lets be clear, I will be there next season no matter who they appoint (unless its Steve Evans) as I am sure will be most others. But lets be equally clear, I have not spoken to a single supporter who thinks Paul Warne would be a good appointment. I can't think of a single good reason why he would be the right choice and nobody has to my knowledge offered one.
Tony Stewart has spoken about his plans for the club, but in terms of the profile (the type of man) of the person who has the most important job in the club - the manager - he has flip-flopped and swung from one extreme to another, and given the impression that we have been making it up as we have gone along. That is as surprising as it is frustrating.
Agree Brad it will go down as a monumental mistake if Warne gets job we will win race into 1st division and who knows where after that , as Miller's we should be very worried.
TS do not appoint Paul Warne as manager, it will be a huge mistake and season ticket sales will go down massively. He is a nice guy and deserves a role at the club, he is NO football manager. We need a proven league 1 winner, end of debate
Here, here!!! also, when Mssrs Davis & Cawthorn read this they MAY like to include the majority of fans view when they are writing the next sugar coated article about RUFC??
Don't like to suggest this but we have to show our feelings on how things are going ,what are thoughts on a walk out tomorrow after 17mins equal to our points tally .
Feels like I'm turning Bolshy again.
I think we should all shout 'incremental ' on 17 minutes. Unless we are drawing and it should be shouted on 18 minutes . If we are winning we should shout something entirely different.

I am grateful to Paul and Joe for their posts, but if you are reading this gentlemen then if I can offer a constructive criticism I think that Brad isn't alone in thinking that your articles often appear to be just a reporting of the message the club wants to put out, which if true is somewhat lazy journalism. The job of the press is to try and offer critical insight and added value. If we just want the club line on things we can just follow their official site. I sometimes wonder if there is a risk as far as the press is concerned of damaging relationships by being overly critical and losing your access to people at the club, which would make life more difficult for you. The club has reacted like that in the past, has it not?
The message from the club is that Paul Warne has to be a serious candidate for the job. I think every poster on this (moderate) site bar one who has expressed an opinion thinks otherwise, and anecdotally I have spoken to dozens of Rotherham supporters about it and not one has said they are in favour of him being appointed. For balance, I should add that they all think he is a good guy who they like, so the opposition to him as a manager isn't in any way personal.
What about a feature that digs a bit deeper and tries to look at what the supporters think and want? Maybe speak to a sample of them (in case the posters on this board are not representative of the wider group). From where I am sitting, there is a chasm between what the Chairman is thinking and what the supporters are thinking. I get the impression that the Chairman has completely underestimated the strength of feeling on the subject. Either that or he isn't too fussed what we think. One or the other. Quite a big story on its own.

I walked out at half time when we played Leeds United. There were several other like minded supporters who did likewise.
I have not been back to NYS since that afternoon.
Did RUFC miss me? Not really.
However, I do not intend to visit any time soon.
My season ticket has been put to one side for the rest of this season.
I am not totally convinced by any of the current plans which RUFC have made public.
The final straw, for me, will be the appointment of PW as manager/coach of RUFC.
It appears to me that PW was not able to say, 'No', when asked to take over as interim
manager. Was he asked or was he instructed to take the job? If he had refused to take the post of interim manager would he
still be working for RUFC? Without PW being available who would have been appointed as interim manager?

That's right. There wasn't anyone else available.
I too have not been for quite a few games wotsisname, wont be going today or Tuesday. If Warne(s) is announced as manager I will not be going for the rest of the season nor will I renew my season ticket. Simply disgusted at what is coming out of the club this season and not willing to support the backroom staff in stripping the club down to L2 levels

Hi Smiler - thanks for the message!
I don't know if you pick the paper up but we did do something like this a few weeks back - with quite a few comments on both sides of the argument, along with some that were still undecided.
However, I will look in to the possibility of doing something along those lines in the coming week.
