'Over 50 applications for manager's job'

Tony Stewart has been quoted by Dave Beddows, Rotherham Advertiser,  as saying that there are 'over 50 candidates for

the Rotherham United manager's job'.

He goes on to say, ' And they'll be analysed during the international break'.

PS

It must be true as it's on  the back page of this week's  Rotherham Advertiser.

Oh f**k off to all the local press if I'm honest. I know they've got a job to do but we all know whats gonna happen, RUFC are a right mess right now & no amount of platitudes &trying to put a more positive spin on things is going to change the views of the majority of fans.

So last week it was Warne ( s ) and 2 or 3 others.
This week it's over 50. I smell BS.
I've got to the point where I don't believe anything TS say's lately.

Well my application is going in for a start. I think I have what they might be looking for.

I am a Miller from birth so understand what the club is all about, have no managerial experience, consider myself to be a good bloke, and will work really hard. What is more, I wouldn't expect top dollar.

I expect to at least be shortlisted, and will keep you posted.

Very kind NY.

The more I think about it the more I want the job.  Presumably I'd get the usual three year contract.  If I'm a success there's a bigger job waiting and I'm made for life.  If not I'll get fired, get paid up and still do pretty well.  Nice work if you can get it.

I promise to be animated in the technical area and applaud the fans even when we are dire.  Give them what they want!

TS used to think experience or qualifications were important, but not any more, so why not?

I will need an Assistant if you're interested?

That must make upwards of 300 applications TS has had.

300!

And he cant pick out one decent candidate.

The spartans defeated the might of the eastern empires with 300.

We are either getting Farmers for Candidates or TS ...hem!

Maybe a lot of them are people who are looking for a club rejection letter, there are people out there who do this.

I for one am praying for a change, we cannot continue with PW even with new players at the club.

i just had a thought

this 50 + candidates for the job managing the best team in South Yorkshire

they need to be told the position has been took

beside most managers with anything about them would have a checklist or stayed cleared as tony wont put guarantee a budget in writing

1) decent budget erm no

2) chairman that backs them check but with strings attached

3) decent backroom facilities no

most will not have applied only those out of a job for a while and they aere with good reason

re cotterill

We must pick someone other than PW. I'd take anyone, PW would not be employed by any other championship, L1 or L2 club and he'd struggle to get a vanarama job.

My current understanding NY is that for some reason the powers that be favour Paul Hurst over the Smiler/NY dream team, and that he will be confirmed as the next permanent manager before very long.  Sooner rather than later if Shrewsbury can cement their League One survival.  As TTB would say, you heard it here first (actually we are linked with him every time we have a vacancy which is three times a season, but hey ho).
