Ok sad as it is we are going so let's plan for the future , we need a manager now and not what we've had recently managers who always resort to good ball. After watching Terriers last night let's go for someone like Wagner he as absolutely transformed that club top to bottom he looks to have brought that German attitude ,I just hope Tony looks outside his normal box this time and hope he makes a better choice this time .
Absolutely agree, and it needs to happen now, not in the summer. To appoint a manager now would give him the remaining games to thoroughly assess what he has to work with and plan for his summer targets, next season should be starting now from a planning view point.
I just can't see the value of 'soldiering on' fulfilling our obligation and simply donating 3 points to opposing teams without drawing any real benefit from it. Sadly I fear more of the same.
Warne willbe the manager next season. He's already planning for next season. We may be able to alter our style next season when we are the Huddersfield of the first division. I'm led to believe he's putting a tremendous amount of work in and going in the right direction.

I sincerely hope you are right Fliker and I dont for one minute dispute the hard work that is going on. However if the club is ever going to move forward, then I have to agree with Lenthemiller, we need a renewed mindset and vision to take the club forward.
We may have come up too early, I don't know, but the reason we have come back down in such a disastrous and embarrassing fashion is simply because the world of football has moved on - we haven't. We are still little old Rotherham except in a smart new stadium, fur coat and no knickers. We are still the same club that played at Millmoor.
I hope he's wrong. We need an experienced manager not an upgraded fitness coach. We need someone with influence and connections to bring us decent loan players from higher clubs (we won't buy). Our conditioning has been rubbish too - everyone is always injured and we fall to bits in the second half. Full clear-out and a new backroom team required. We need a fresh approach and this has to start with the off pitch team and we can't get nostalgic about PW.
Most sane fans (happy clappers excused) can see where the same mistakes are being made time and time again. We have become an amateurish joke of a football club. PW will never become a successful football manager while ever he has got a hole in his ar*e!!
I know I'll get shouted down in some circles but I want to support a thoroughly professional football club that conducts it's business in the RIGHT way & treats its customers (fans) with thanks & respect rather than the self interest based debacle of a club we currently have. To achieve this, TS has to cull most of the "staff" that have taken up residence in his sphincter for the past 7/8 years but shout as loudly as we like, that will not happen & it'll all end in tears, such is life at RUFC.
Brad I am 100 per cent behind your post.Just one point to describe us as amateurish is disrespectful to amateurs in general and to add joke to that statement, well it's just not funny anymore. Continue telling it like it is Brad it's about time somebody did.
Stubbs got us one of the best players we will have at RUFC in Brown but he wasnt up to the English game and certainly not the championship. Warne should be nowhere near the job - if he wants management he should be cutting his teeth in the vanarama or whatever it's called getting someone back in the league. We are supposed to be in the Championship and therefore no training ground for a manager with ZERO years experience who publicly stated he didn't want the job. I don't know any other industry that would press gang an unqualified employee into the top job because they were available - I bet TS wouldn't put the forklift driver in charge of his lighting business. Warne has shown nothing that makes me think we won't be back in L2 in 2019.
I really Paul Warnes (as tony calls him) is just a temporary stop gap until the end of the season,I think it will be a big mistake to give him the job next season and will be a short lived appointment in my own opinion.
Paul is a good fitness coach and thats his passion, he should go back to that role next season as you can't fault the work he has done in that department.
Don't understand why we believe he is a good fitness coach the players don't seem to be strong also we seem to run out of steam a lot earlier than other teams ,we also seem to get more than our fair share of injuries. I still think it's time for a complete clear out of back room staff ,it's just that we appear to have gone as far as we can with what we've got .
We run out of steam before the opposition because we usually spend two thirds of the match chasing the ball. That isn't a fitness issue, its a tactical/ability issue. When we came up through L2 and L1 we scored lots of late goals because we were the ones on the front foot a lot of the time. Now it is the other way round.
I also don't know why Warne would get the job. Only in football would someone leap from being fourth or fifth in command to being the top man. Nothing against him (not his fault), but he isn't qualified for the job on paper and whilst he has shown himself to be honest, hardworking, and all of that it has not shown him to be the manager that we need in the long run.

"Informed" source tells me Gareth Ainsworth has been approached. Could do a lot worse I suppose. He's young ,hungry and ambitious and had good experience with no money at Wycombe.
"I had a makeshift team. I had three of my best players out this week. I thought the first half was poor - there wasn't much in it.
"We had that error just before half-time. I'm not criticising him [Ben Purrington] but to go in 2-0 down made the team talk a little bit different.
"The players are low, possibly not as low as me. They're resilient, try to wash it off and blame it on others. I have to pick them up again.
"To get drummed like that is embarrassing for the club. The fans don't deserve that and I apologise for it."
not sure who these best players are... Ward probably one, but I doubt he would have scored 6. We've seen enough I think to let Paul admit to himself now that we do indeed need a new man, but I don't see the point in brining one in this season as there is nothing to gain (demorilised team, at least 8 players need to go etc...)
Better to line one up so when last ball is kicked, or maybe last couple of games without taking charge, he can quickly get into bringing in new players.... and it needs to start straight away not like the joke that was last year...
Warnie, the whole freaking squad is makeshift, technically poor, demoralised,& most importantly not even approaching good enough. Let go of the reins now, ask Tony if you can go back to your cushy job.......oops can't, someone has got your old job.. errr
