Me and a mate are driving over for the game. Where can we park that would allow a reasonably quick getaway? Need to be back in Blackburn for half7 at latest to avoid earache from the missus.
You could try Westgate in Rotherham Town Centre. The National Car Park there charges £1.50 on match day. The New York Stadium is not too far away. Alternatively, you could try parking up at bottom of Main Street which is a spit and a throw from the ground. Either way you would need to leave the ground just before the end of the game to get a quick getaway and avoid the after match rush.
If you need to get away sharpish, I would park at the bottom of Main Street, which is only 2 minutes from the ground. As you come down the A630, just as you see the ground on your left, drive through the lights (past the Main Street turning) and then take the very next left (its only about 50 yds after the traffic lights and looks like you are pulling onto a derelict building site but it is a car park. Cost is £3 from the machine. If you park up close to where you drove in, you can be away less than 5 minutes after the game, no need to leave early, I do not think it will be a sell out!
