There's transparency for the fans yeah but this just seems complete idiocy. Other clubs know exactly what we're doing & act accordingly as was shown when Matty James went to Barnsley when it was known we were in for him.
Why do we make the same mistakes time& time again? The "head of recruitment" has made a lot of difference hasn't he??
Why do you think WE leak the information. Bet you anything it's from the agent or the club selling. Hence we publicly make it known that clubs are in for Ward it advertises the player. Why would any club not want to get the maximum they can. Of course it's going to come out, just a commodity and it pays to advertise. I'm sure you will think of several other points to moan and complain and run the millers down.
I think the Bogle bid has been leaked by his side most Definitely by his agent,The more they put it out in media sources i.e twitter the more attention they will receive from other clubs who may be interested.
I think we get used a lot like this with most transfer dealings,i know for certain when we tried to sign Dicko on a permenant from Wigan his agent leaked it on twitter through one of his outlets and that alerted Wolves and Charlton who then bid for him.
The same happened with Jackson Irvine who went to Burton,Also a certain other player from a scottish club with a long pony tail that ended up at another club not far from us.
Agents are the s*** of the earth always trying to earn themselfs more cash from deals even if it means the player gets a worst deal in the long haul of things.
Bogle will be off to Brentford who are just about to flog Scott Hogan to a premier league club for Major money,His agent is throwing the Grenade out and waiting for the serious money to come flying in for Bogle.
Expect him to go for 1.6 million mark is my guess,not that I've heard anything from a certain freind of mine who happens to work at a certain club in the cleethorpes area!
And i don't know if this has been mentioned before Brad but when we tried to sign a the said scottish pony tailed wonder kid, he was playing for scotland under 21's abroad the night before and we paid for a first class plane ticket for him and his agent to manchester airport and the club picked them up and drove them to the stadium for the talks and left them to think about it over night in a room at the Holiday inn paid for by quess who again and he met a certain Mr Manderic at that said hotel and signed for them!!
Skulduggery indeed Slider, these people clearly have little respect for anything or anyone except filthy lucre. They'll get whats coming and in this particular case the said ponytailed individual hardly did himself any favours and said purchaser wasted, what was it £800,000 ? and saved us the same. Hardly good business for anyone really, except of course the agent.
FAO Fliker;
It may seem that I actually enjoy running our beloved club down but it is borne out of utter frustration. Other football clubs, some much smaller than ours seem to run their clubs AND their relationships with supporters on a much more efficient & professional basis than the Millers, & that includes every conceivable angle, be it tickets, commercial activities (or lack of), recruitment etc etc.
The whole organisation is amateurish from top to bottom & I withhold my right to point this out from time to time, it's called free speech.
You are entitled to your view Brad which I always read but I do get annoyed at the constant negative. I can tell you we have put significant bids ( slight lie I only know of two definitely) don't know who the third is until tomorrow. But as I keep been told by certain club officials ' which decent championship player is going to sign for a bottom of the table club' perhaps on the last day if they are desperate but if you are looking for quality signings forget it. Financially we can't compete and that's all it is. Teams like Barnsley have learnt to bring players in at a young age nurture them and sell for a profit, they can now afford to buy and pay the going rate in this division , we can't, there have been a number of targets this year that have gone to Barnsley on higher wages and for slightly bigger fees than we could pay. Its simple buissness but we are slightly out of our depth. Barnsley needed to drop down regroup and get their ducks in a row to get where they are now. We actually came up a couple of seasons too early but hey I'm still enjoying it and it's not over by a long way UTM
I notice as I reply Barnsley sign another 21 year old from Leeds

Thats what happens nowadays aint it ! Hardly any moves happen in championship or prem without it being made public ( this kid coming from swansea the exception)
yes I think its simply math. I doubt very much that anything is "leaked" unintentionally.
Nothing stays secret long, and as we see everyday, someone always knows something about something; it just depends on where you are in the dynamic of a decision . However, when we are talking auctions -as we always are with football transfers-then its the highest bidder that usually comes out top.
