So with so many fans giving Tony Stewart a bit of stick for making a few bad decisions, would you if you had the money to run our football club?
The Stewart family have a net worth of around 30 million pounds, so if you won the euro millions say 25 million would you buy the club and run it knowing that it would not make a massive amount back if any year to year.
We really need to be careful as to what we wish for,You have to look at who if anybody localy could take over the running of the club or would we except a foreign investor that has no connection to the club or town.
People will say Ron Hull streight away but not realise he already does invest in the club along with Mr Beckett.
According to companies house we have a cash balance of 126,000 pounds and assets of 2.1 million.
But we also have liabilities of 3.1 million so our net worth is minus £785,000.
So in normal mans terms we won't be making any money this year neither did we last year unless we sell Danny ward for a fair old wack.
The reality is that not many clubs make money unless the premier league is the place you are plying your trade,Its a expensive hobby for most lower league chairman.
Looking at those stats would you run the club with your 25 million winnings and if so how bonkers and mad would you be to do so?
Loosing over seven hundred grand in a year it would not take long to wipe your lolly out of your account.
So to all those who may be giving it a bit large to the Chairman just be very careful what you wish for.
And my answer to the original question.
Not a prayer in hells chance,i would rather buy a million quids worth of freezers from curry's and try flogging them to a tribe of Eskimo's!!!
We normally have this debate about who is out there and who would take over the club, it was a common enough debate when Booth had control and Mr Hull's name was often mentioned then. But someone will take over the club sooner or later, for better or worse. I dont know, who but someone will be the 'Saviour' just like good old Syd Wood did back in the day and so did Mr Stuart. But it does make you wonder why anyone would want to own a football club, although many businesses run with a deficit, its when that deficit/debt cant be serviced when the trouble starts
I think most of us would acknowledge that TS has made the largest contribution to RUFC, certainly in my 55years as a Miller. That dosent mean he cannot be criticised. Most can see mistakes seem to have been made, big mistakes, and no one would call that either, we're all human, but when the same things happen year after year, even the most staunch supporters of any club would begin wonder why.
Its no use saying what would we do with £25 or £30million, you might as well say £25 to £30 billion or trillion, because we aint got it nor probably never will, but what most do is spend a fair proportion of their earnings in watching and following the Millers home and away, not to mention merchandise, programmes, food and drink etc it soon adds up. That outgoing represents a significant investment out of an ordinary blokes weekly wage, week in week out, year in year out, in supporting the Millers, many travelling hundreds of miles from Exeter and Worcester for example and even from abroad to follow their beloved club. We are all investors, some put a lot in, some a bit less, most as much as they can.
So I would suggest if any are feeling fed up and voice their frustrated at the current situation, being told this, that and the other or nothing at all, and see no improvement, then I think they are perfectly entitled to do so without having to feel as though they are being in anyway disloyal to the Chairman or the board or the club in general. The fans are the life blood.
If I won say £60M+ ont Euros, I would go talk to TS about helping him (£20M) rather than taking over - do it properly, with a say in things and proper financials (so there was something in it for me - not because I'd want to make money, but because I wouldn't want to waste it )
I want to help him move us forward.
I would though want to have a say about how we run transfer negotiations and player contracts in particular, but also other areas of the club as a business in relation to playing staff, if I couldn't do that as part of the deal I wouldn't be interested.
Isn't the ground an asset worth £20M+? Presumably that's the books of RUFC and not inclusive of the holding company that has NYS.
The ground is owned by the holding company and not the club,Although Richard Stewart is the director of the holding company its classed as a totally seperate company.
The revenue from the sale of rights to the in house sales goes directly to the holding company as does the club shop sales, function room hire etc.
I think its fair to ask questions and point out inconsistencies . TS has been somewhat guilty of being unrealistic and in doing that he hasnt given the fans anywhere near the truth of his ability to take the club forward on the pitch. I think this is a deserved criticism.
Would I invest 25 million? No! Id be happy to gift something to the club for the sake of the fans. Maybe build a bar where the empty units are and put some cash aside to run at a loss if need be but I think a bar open on match days and in the week would probably run itself.
Maybe start a fund to buy guest and chrimes by putting the first couple of million in.
Maybe extend the club shop by building on the front and extending down towards the car park type of thing.
To run RUFC Id want to have 100 million + otherwise its not sustainable. Stewart wont have lost anything as such. He stays within budgets and will have had lots of incentives and the investment he has made will be paid off over the years.
It might be that at some point the club will look attractive to outside investment especially when the loans are paid off but in the meantime Im more than happy for TS to run the club but please Tony just cut out the crap about our budget.

And that is the reason we have no further investment
I help run a youth football club, while it's a world away it still operates on the same principals. No matter what income you get you look to maximise that as much as you can with decision making. Lessons are learned from past experiences, things changed, tweaked and new opportunities sought.
I'm under no illusion about Rotherham United, we are a top L1 club, but with the right decision making we can be a sustainable lower Championship club, that is our pinnacle, and I see it as top level failure that we can't do that. I'm not even going to go into all the stuff we all know and have discussed at length, I just hope we can regroup in L1, learn from it and not do it again!
