So we are taking a fair old few of us up the A1 to the Toon, and with this i feel we cannot discount the effect of last Saturday's result.
Whilst its going to be tough, Newcastle will be wary of us, firstly they play tonight dont know if they would rest players, but for me this is a bonus, also the rumour that Gayle is injured.
Coupled with the frailties at the back for the Magpies, i reckon its going to be good even match.
You never know? Who would have given us a chance at 3 O'clock last Saturday?
We will however, need all our players to perform to the best of their abilities. This is away from home and although we are taking over 3000, that still leaves 48,000 noisy home fans! It will be quite a daunting place to go but, Ward may be back? Newell may have recovered from the illness that forced him off against Norwich? Tom, Will and Richie may have another great game? They may get a player sent off after 20 minutes? Who knows?
This is why football is such a great game, the favourites do not always win, just ask Ipswich Town fans about last night!
I am really looking forward to it on Saturday and who knows, we may just bust a few more "nailed on" ac***ulators ?
Fancy a crafty 0-0 or, Jerry comes on to grab the winner in the last 5 minutes!!! (well, you can dream!).
Nothing expected so nothing to lose. I think it will be one of those where we compete for 20 or 30 minutes but end up caving in to the inevitable and losing 2-0 or 3-0 to a better side. Sorry. A point would be a fantastic result if we could sneak one. I hope everyone enjoys the experience.
If you'd like any away-day tips let me know. Especially if you're making a weekend of it. If you're driving up I'd recommend parking at the Metro Centre, it's only a short train ride from Newcastle city centre, it's obviously handy for pre & post-match food, and most importantly it's entirely free.
There's plenty of pubs for all tastes, whether you're looking to meet up with loads of the other visiting Millers (Union Rooms), a proper old boozer (Crown Posada), a nightcap (Bar Tokyo) or whatever.
Gayle is injured, as is Mitrovic so we'll likely start with Daryl Murphy up front. Shelvey is back from suspension and he makes such a difference to us. Not just as a threat going forward, but we control the game much better with him in the team. We got a morale boosting 3-1 against Birmingham in the FA Cup last night with a heavily rotated side, so we should have a strong side available for your visit.
Who should we worried about? Have you made any new signings?
With Newcastle having an FA Cup replay last night against Birmingham, it won't be a bad time to pay them. I seem to remember something similar last season when we went to Birmingham and turned them over after they'd had compressed fixtures. It would be great to get something out of the game.

Hi Fish
No new signings as yet but a few in the pipeline in and out after this game,We started a young lad called Yates against Norwich who is a real prospect for us from our academy, scored the first goal and got man of the match so confidence will be high with him and what better stage to keep hitting the ground running for him.
The team is playing with a bit more stability since paul warne settled in as temp Manager,He played for us and knows what it means and how the public expect a team in Rotherham to play.
Expect us to pressure every minute and chase every lost cause,You never know we could get a point fingers crossed but we will enjoy the day as its a great stadium and its near the city centre and the people up your way live and breathe football.

UTM.
We know not to go into any Championship game expecting an easy 3pts (Hello Blackburn ), though I will say the consensus is that if we get an early goal we should go on to win by a few.
You think Yates will get a start, or will he be an option from the bench. Where does he play? Which famous player from the 80s/90s is he most like? What? I'm 35, that's my what I know.

Bear in mind we fielded a much changed side and handed debuts to 3 youngsters. No Darlow, no Lascelles, no Clark, no Dummett, no Hayden, no Atsu, no Perez, no Diame, no Gayle, no Mitro... 6 of those should be ready for the game on Saturday.
I think yates will start the game as danny ward will be off before the transfer window closes and i think this injury he picked up is just a excuse not to play him incase he gets injured scuppering any transfer.
Yates reminds me of a old fashioned chomping at the bit centre forward,he will need time to mature and build his strengths he's only young, but if Harry Kane can come through spurs ranks and be a success then theres no reason why Yates can't for us,He will chase every ball and i have seen what he can do from watching him grow in the youth team and reserves.
Do you know the story behind the reason your team run out to Local Hero and why its got a lot to do with us?
I'm getting far too excited about this weekend... I can't resist the 12/1 some bookies are offering on us winning! I'll be having a few bob on that although I don't expect us to get anything other than a hiding, but likewise I don't think it's mad to say we're better than 12/1 on current form..
But I'm mainly excited about the whole weekend, which is probably not good as I will end up drinking far too much before and after the game if I'm in a giddy mood :) :)
A few years back we had my Nephew's stag do in the toon... and for a treat we said we'd all chip in and pay for him to have a lap dance in one of the clubs... we came out about an hour later and NONE of us had any money left in our pockets and had to form a line at the nearest cash machine to get more money for the rest of the night .. good times :)

Honestly, I have no idea why we come out to Local Hero, ashamed to say I thought there was a film connection, but after a quick google I see that's nonsense, would love to know though.
Hope the lads that travelled enjoyed themselves despite the score. If anyone wants to see the full 90 (though I understand if you'd rather not) nufc.co.uk is hosting the full game, no commentary just the action on the site. Register and it's yours, no charge.
