Fisher is young maybe ship him out on loan and bring in replacements in jan. Lad looks well short on confidence. Disappointing to see so much abuse thrown at some of the players last night, thought they put the effort in, just lacking a bit of quality.
There are times and indeed occasional whole games when Fisher looks capable, but he seems to let his head go down if he makes a mistake and he does have spells when he looks lost.
Who is better though? Last time Kelly played was against Leeds and he was blamed for both their goals.
Last time Ball played he had to be taken off at half time for his own protection.
On a different thread someone suggested playing three at the back. I don't think that is a bad shout. We haven't got great full backs and we haven't got any true wide players who can beat a full back and get a cross in. Maybe three centre backs would make us more solid with say Forde and Newell playing as wing backs? Three in midfield with one of them (presumably Brown) behind a front two.
That is how Burton are playing and also how Wilder is setting Sheff Utd up, and how Chelsea are playing. I noticed after the away game at Burton Warne said he liked that system. It seems to me it might suit the players we have, and what have we got to lose trying something different?

Totally agree... I've been saying for over a year that our biggest weakness is our fullbacks... simply too easy to get past and I agree Fisher looks worried stiff, I saw Frecks putting an arm around him in the Wigan game.
Nothing against any of our full backs personally, but we need a new right back and a new left back as a priority in January.
I think Fisher is endemic of the back 4 in general, - WEAK and certainly not Championship standard.
The problem with the 1st statement is that if you're weak in the Champ, you'll get eaten alive at L1. However in Fisher's defense, he is good going forward, if we did get a more hardened right back, try him on right wing, he's gotta be better than Forde, who reminds me of a football version of John Major in Spitting Image, that's his game - it's just grey, functional but doesn't actually contribute much, but neither does he too much to get us into trouble.
Adayemi, for a CDM his reactions to things are slower than mine, and I'm 38! - while he can do other stuff adequately, he needs that extra second to react - a second you don't get at Champ level. I wouldn't want to sign him, he's no Smallwood (an on form Smallwood that is). Brown can go back, I don't think we've done anything for his development and he has a refusal to adapt his game to suit the situation, his decision making is wrong most of the time, opting for something fancy when really he just needs to keep it simple & choose his moments to get fancy - ask Greg Halford!
If Wardy & Camp do go, then good luck to them - I'd be more miffed if Joe Newell went who is a real jewel given an extended run of games and the right players around him
I think wood is our best defender by a considerable margin and is helping Belaid no end to settle in. Name the defenders who you would put in before him, Ball who makes too many errors all the others that have been dropped, there is a reason these two have played at the back the last few games and we have never lost by more than one goal not the 3-4 as it was earlier on.
