Many of our players are past it, some not up to it, others too inexperienced yet I find it hard to believe that they are soooooo bad so as to be unable to clock up more than one win!!!!!!!
They obviously dont care. They cant possibly care. And why should they, most will be gone come May next year. But I would have thought enough of them would have retained enough professionalism and personal integrity to make a go of it. But no. No affinity with the club or the fans, just drawing their pay for another defeat
Despite what some may say, that they are giving their all, sorry but I cant accept that thesis. Professional pride surely would have been enough to get an odd win here scrape a draw there, but consistent defeats week after week tell the real story. They dont give a toss for the club that employs them. We're down, they will be out, and the fans will once again suffer the humiliation.
At times early in the game we looked like we could cut them apart at will, but Taylor and Brown didn't take their chances. Then we allow Burton a chance where one simple straight ball gets them in on goal through a gap in the middle of our defence that you could drive a fleet of buses through, a rebound breaks for them and they finish it clinically. Our confidence goes and we fall apart bit by bit. To add insult to injury a bloke who hasn't scored for over a year chooses that game to smash a volley into the top corner from twenty-five yards out.
A couple of players apart, who I have my doubts about, I don't see players who aren't trying. Yesterday you could see how much the players were hurt by the result, the performance and the reaction of the travelling supporters. I do see a lack of quality in most areas, a total lack of confidence, a lack of courage to get on the ball and try to make something happen, and a lack of leadership on the field.
At times even at nil-nil the players looked terrified to have a second touch. Our movement was poor because they aren't expecting each other to look for a pass and they are afraid to be the player on the ball.. It becomes a vicious circle.
As a supporter you can see it all unfolding painfully in front of your eyes, and it is frustrating beyond belief.
