Great post Exeter and I note your very real empathy. However , I would still love Ronnie to have another go come he'll or high water . He is a living legend and life is very short you realise when you have lived a certain amount of time.

There is nothing more central to life than fellow feeling and this man is loved . It is a unique possibility

Im an old Ronnie fan as much as anyone but sentiment aside we wouldn't be in a great shape come next season. We need a forward thinking manager to build a squad, build the infrastructure and get ready for next season. Ronnie would get the players fired up and if he worked along side next seasons manager then perhaps but to pin our future on him I don't think so.

I hear you flicker but isn't this the pipe dream we have been chasing for a hundred years and latterly in a focused way.

Ronnie et Al might be just as capable as anyone but need time.

Look at SE, he built a very good core at L1 level and now on hindsight it remains the best core we have had in this era.
