The footy related chat on the site seems to be a bit flat ATM so I wonder if anyone is as annoyed as me at some of the infuriating fashionable language traits that seems to have infiltrated the English language even in Rotherham.

However, I do super hate the lilt that seems to appear as a question indicator towards the end of a sentence. It seems to me that the 20 somethings, educating and females are the worst offenders
I hate it when listening to an interview on telly or the wireless when the interviewer asks a question and the interviewee, usually middle class university educated, begins the answer with "So,........"

My favourite is the overuse of "literally". It's irrelevant in most uses and adds nothing, literally adds nothing to the point being made. When I hear it I could literally scream!
