He's not one to rant and rave on the touchline - goes in line with the FA coaching DNA that players need to be coached to allow themselves self learning & problem solving. Which is fine - as long as you're doing the right coaching!

All games - no matter how good the coaching is, need to be game managed, things need addressing and tweaking during a game, it also helps that the manager is seen to give positive feedback to what the players do / problem solve on the pitch. Does AS actually do this even?

Players need to feel good about themselves, they need confidence and reassurance just as much on the pitch as they do in the managers office during the week. Feeling good, enjoying the work, having a togetherness in the dressing room all equal success and is not hard to do.

As fans we aren't idiots - we will just as much appreciate a defeat where performance levels have been good and the right tactics points addressed. We will also forgive individual errors - they happen - its life. What we won't stomach is lack of fight for the cause or crazy 'jockey thou shalt not tackle ethos'.

More of the 2nd half at Huddersfield please

In answer to one of those excellent points Exeter , I remember camp running to the centre circle gingerly and 3 times asking stubbs of he could go up for the corner. Camp was getting anxious and irritated and then gesturing again with hands in the empty bowl gesture stubbs finally waved him on.

What I took from that was that stubbs is certainly not communicating self belief or problems solving to his players. At 1-2 down with a minute left it should be a given. Secondly , stubbs just did not want to make a decision , even then , even with the gates wide open and no possibility of any negatives.

I want him to succeed. I want his team to click. I think it's even possible if we are prepared to stick with him and are relegated it might be good in the medium term...but he has to be more open and as you point out able to manage things as they develop.  He doesn't care for standing up because he has set his team up and that's that. He is just that kind of person and I'm. Fine with that but I'm not fine with the performances and letting go smallwood and Thorpe.  The former universally hailed by most fans and pundits as unfathomable.

Please klick into gear RUFC.  We all believe we can because we are true supporters.  But, stubbs will have to take what he gives out. That fair enough I think.
