owners, managers, players, fans all the preseason hype but what did you really expect, bottom 3 budget, inexperienced manager plus add to that he had very limited preseason and had never looked at our players before, no scouting system, div2 training ground so hard to court players. Etc etc and still we are 4th from the bottom ( don't know how). I do see what everyone sees but to put all this on Stubbs shoulders nooo. He's never and will never have the tools so don't totally blame him, yes he has his faults but really what did you expect, we are going back down to where we belong div1. Not saying this season but sooner or later it's where our budget, set up and mentality belongs so just enjoy this season tell your children what it was like and prepare for whatever awaits but mort important just smile🙂

Agree with most of this, though I do feel Stubb's negative tactics are his own doing and he has to take responsibility for this.

I think we've covered this a few times now. As fans we all know this and have the 'enjoy it whilst it lasts' mentality, but the frustration has been caused by TS stating that our aims are much higher and then clearly having the opposite strategy. No one likes to be lied to, and if you feel it's being done for financial reasons then you get bitter - be it RUFC bumping up season ticket sales or some deal at a shop that turns out to be nothing of the sort when you read the small print. And I'm not having the 'well he can't say we are going to L1' - he can't - but he can't say the opposite either, he should say we are pleased to be in the Championship and able to tackle this challenge as a relatively small club.

Indeed, what is odd is that TS is obviously well versed at conversing what his company can provide to his many and some lucrative client base. I'm sure if he'd have promised the stars and not delivered he wouldn't be where he is today. Why this can't be transferred to the business of football I don't know. You don't converse with your customer base unachievable expectations - it only spells trouble.

Although I must admit, anyone that even believed anything other than another 4th bottom scrap then they're utterly deluded or incapable of making their own informed decisions - maybe they also believe the Apollo footage was real?

I am well and truly in the deluded camp!

Preston proved what can be achieved last season. They haven't got a higher budget than us.

The teams we can compete with are the likes of Preston, Wigan, Blackburn, Burton, Huddersfield (look where they are), Reading, Cardiff

The problem we've got is twofold. Firstly the club will not break the wage structure (but are prepared to bid £1.5m for one player), and secondly the manager is out of his depth. We either give him time to go through a steep learning curve or we replace him.

Sir Tony speaks to other clubs chairmen and he knows what it takes to compete at this level. The budget is there, we're just not using it wisely.

As I said, deluded!

Of course sooner or later we will fall, a club our size will always be vulnerable in this league . We need to make sure that we are equipped to come back.

The problem is, its not that easy to bounce back, and if we did, unless the clubs mind set changes , we'd be back down again. Such is the life of a Miller, up and down more times than a brides nightie. But it doesn't have to be like that, being a yo-yo club is hardly going to attract any lucrative investment that is so desperately needed to build in long term sustainability. I agree with NewYorkshire on this one

We are doing much better than we have done on average over the years.

I think there is an opportunity to make a claim for a sustainable future here or here abouts.

Id like to think we can be solid enough to be realistic promotion contenders in L1 most seasons.

Id be happy with a decade of that but ultimately looking at being in the championship for a few seasons...we all know the level of performance that is required each week to win a game at this level. I think we can just do it again this season.

heres hoping
