It is life however and you gotta participate or you might as well be not here.

I think the question is how does one participate?

Passion
Calm
Stoicism

The best minds and hearts of humanity have pondered this for years without a suitable answer. Happiness for more than brief moments is not possible. I think it's good to participate in an interested fashion. If one doesn't strive to create a better cir***stance then smiling is manic at times

not time to go yet. However I would if I was TS do the following. Insist on finding an out of work pro that has lots of experience at centreback that we may need to pay a little bit too much for but can be our rock to build on rather than the sand of children. We need a one season John Terry type. There are 100's of players out of work we can find someone. With Camp, TBC, Frecks and Blackstock we have a spine to build around.
second I would sit stubbs down and question him on the quality of his staff, there seem to be a lot of coaches on the bench but nobody seems able to coach defence. As the owner I would insist on bringing in a defensive coach
Don't pick Kelly at left back again until all other players aren't able to play football or there are no fans in the ground that can kick a ball with their left foot.
Marquee big name signing on a short term contract, money directly linked to goals and games so lower basic. Look at the ex-stars around the world that are unemployed at the end of their career, a big name brought in will put people on the gate and lift the place.
If we fail to stop leaking goals and dont start picking up points by end of october then we change

Good post. I like your idea of pulling in a JT type on big bucks to anchor the back line - perhaps Wilson was this guy, but jeez - I'd be better in the role, he can't win a header. Adeyemi needs to get fit too - he's risking a yellow at every tackle as he's a day late. Allen, this guy looks fat - or plays like he's fat. Need to be a yard sharper and last longer. It's not all bad though - DW still scoring, and that's good - if he could hold up the ball and bring in others he would be great.

Note to self, I Beleive.

Is it blind belief or is it a calculated risk belief, based on 3 teams being worse than us.

Derby, i like the Marquee big name signing approach, but that doesnt fit our business plan, i do beleive Blackstock will start scoring but we wont play 2 up front.

Ward doesnt warrant being dropped for Blaclstock to fit in the team, and Brown just picks himself doesnt he, paradoxically it gets worse.

Building the spine approach is one that has served a lot of succesfull managers, like Clough & Shankly, but will Stubbs see this, and who will it be.

It's pie in the sky isn't it guys.

He has missed the window and not done anything since Blackstock who is yet to have a minute on the pitch.

Listen to what stubbs says ; "we have what we have" He is both negative and critical. It'd not good.

He has to start playing a better system. That's all he has I think.

If I were your board I'd never have hired him in the first place.

If you look at Hibs last 2 league campaigns, he made a dogs dinner of both of them.

The first season with Hearts and Rangers in the league, we were out of the title race by mid-September. We were beaten in the playoffs by a poor Rangers side who went on to get spanked 6-1 over 2 legs by Motherwell..

The second season we were out of the title race by early February, desipite it being an easier league than the year before. We finished 3rd behind the mighty Falkirk who on a quarter of the budget of Hibs proceeded to knock us out the playoffs as well.

As a manager I thought he was utterly hopeless. Initially I thought he talked a good game but the team had so many failings.

He repeatedly made the same mistakes. Week after week, the same ones. Tactically he was utterely hopeless. I can't think of one occasion he'd ever made a change to influence a game. His substitutions were only ever made after the 82nd minute.

Our team wasn't particularly fit, lacked leaders and couldn't defend a set piece if their lives depended on it.

Then were his post match interviews. It was like his were picked from a Managerial Post match interview handbook. All utter drivel. If we lost it was always someone else's fault.

I tried to get odds on Stubbs being sacked before Christmas, the day he got the Rotherham job but i couldn't find a bookie to give me them.

Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season. You'll need it with him in charge

How the bloody hell did TS find this guy and what was the basis of his appointment over the other potential managers - Stuart Gray etc. Probable Answer: cheap.

A disconcerting post from our Scottish brother. of course, those who checked on his progress at Hibs knew a lot of this. The stats were there, and the inability to put a game to bed combined with no real improvement one could be confident in over two seasons. I know most Hibs fans would have kept him but this was probably based on the final curtain call of the cup win...we are reactive creatures and forget the years of misery after one good...you know, the Mrs is great again...another false dawn that keeps us hangin on for years.

anyway, the tactics and the slow and ponderous-some would say stubborn-way he goes about interviews and tactical changes is some margin from what we saw work last year under Warnock. Here was a manager who actually managed a game in a way one could watch, predict and understand. I know , its a rarity for a manager to be that good.

so, I cant sustain the negativity for another few days. Ive turned over a new leaf until Saturday. Ive been thoroughly down for 3 weeks as some of the performances have actually been in that category of " ive never seen that before".

so, ive reviewed the last several games and decided that izzy is great to watch , stubbs will become Jimmy stewart in 'its a wonderful life', and all will be well...until Saturday

losing to the then bottom team (Blackburn) , after leading 1-0, then losing at home to the bottom club again on Saturday, if we do, surely will be enough. It can't get worse can it with anyone else?

Having said that - I'd rather have a win on Saturday despite thinking Stubbs isn't the man to take us forward, I'd much rather be wrong.

Not very inspiring is it. I thought after last seasons great escape, the club has listened to and taken on board Warnock's advice. I was feeling quite upbeat and looking forward to the start of the season with talk of a manager with Championship experience. But no. Its been a long time since I felt so low about our club, and yet I feel for Stubbs. I hope he turns it round PDQ for everyones sake.

Who's on the board the boss and son, and some more P.D ?? would the boss have some good contacts in the football world to go to now and get that unknown gem of a manager IN. we need to do something now, lose to Cardiff Newcastle Uddersfield and were well and truly stuffed. ill be there sat and sat after. the crowds gradually getting less and less, if we stay up the next off season will be a nightmare who will want to join us, #UTM.

BUMP.... this needs to be kept at the top of the post list until it happens

As I posted a few weeks ago 'September' (and end August) was probably our best opportunity of the season in terms of the teams we were facing up to Cardiff game , to ac***ulate some points

We have failed completely...

He has to go and go now... nothing personal, we need points. I can't see us getting 30 points the whole season unless we change now?

Not sure it will get better with a new manager, but it can't get worse can it? We fans are demoralised and the players can't be feeling any better...

Please give Gray a go Tony.

If he does go we will have the usual TS showboat of "375 people have applied, everyone wants this job etc" - just hire somebody who knows this league, knows we have no money to invest and knows how to communicate with the fans. I can't see it though - I think TS has said he will stick with AS so he has to, and AS has done the little money we had on some average players and taken others on loan to give them experience for their parent club. Brown is his only good signing and even he is a touch slow on getting back and defending. Wilson et al are stealing a wage from us.

Gray is the man, he knows the league and the Wendies were starting to go places with a slightly smaller budget than they have now.

look at what happened last year around this time, He got rid of Evans and then NR appeared.

well the 0-6 result this Saturday should nail it I'd suspect

Nothing personal at all, it's just not working.

I assume someone , if not TS himself, is already in discussion with Gray, as we can't afford to go long without a manager although I suspect the players on their own might have a better idea how to set the team up to defend better...

UTM, and I don't know why but I'm still looking fwd to Saturday... good to be a Miller int it, you have to be a bit barmy to survive it :)

Waiting game methinks. Tony hoping Stubbs resigns so he doesn't have to sack him & pay his 3 year contract up.

I agree that Stubbs is not the manager for us, no connection with the fans and watching him on the touch line no connection with the players. Does he tap them on the back shake their hands does he actually show any emotions....... , does he ****.

There's gonna be a lot of tension in the air next Saturday. Who's gonna blink first? TS or AS?

The worst thing that could happen on Saturday is for us to sneak a win against Newcastle. I'm afraid this is the type of perverted reasoning that I've been reduced to!!!

Relax GlennMiller, there's not a snowballs chance in hell of that happening, we are going to get mullered & I'll guess at under 20% possession.
