I'm pretty sure the boos were aimed at Stubbs and not the players ! Tactically inept. Im all for hitting on the break to get a lead. But then dont sit back inviting it on ... Press and get their faces once 2-0 up. Same thing as we did v 10 men Wolves and undoubtedly same the next time we go in front ! Hope he learns from these 2 games and gets a plan b quickly.
Oh my word - way to alienate yourself even further. While you can never please everyone all of the time, surely some common sense would have responded to that question much better than that.
Surely this is better.
'We're 2-0 up, yes we're a bit fortunate but the way Bristol kept coming at us we were finding it really hard to break out and press them back more - get them thinking about us rather than the other way round'.... 'That's the 2nd time now we've not held onto a 2 goal lead, and that will mean the players doing extra on the training ground to make sure this doesn't repeat, we can't keep letting points slip like that especially at home where it will be vital we get as many points on the board as we can'...'I'm not really surprised at the small section of the crowd that booed, I'm sure its just the disappointment but we're working on things and the team will start to see the benefits of that work, they're a young, hungry group and for a lot its been a steep learning curve but I'm confident that my players will soon have much to smile about'
I feel like the supporters have been too harsh too soon with Stubbs and feel like I am in a bit of a minority sticking up for the bloke, but I don't think he has done himself any favours with those comments. I think I know what he is trying to say, but it doesnt come across well. You don't goad your own supporters in any cir***stances.
Smacks of Andy Scott all over again this. How about Stubbs and his broad shoulders get out of the dugout once in a while to encourage and give out clear instructions to a team mainly made up of younger players.
From minute one there has been no effort on his part to engage and try and establish a relationship with the fans.

its of his own making though as unpalatable as it is.
He only has to find it in himself to say, look guys, im sorry. We are in this together. Give me a chance . I am here to do my best and we will get it right...you know, just something helpful.
Oh dear, oh dear. Bring it on. He's clearly saying beat him up and not the team which is semi-admirable but he needs to gain our respect and admiration through LEADING the team not taking flak for them. Get out of the dugout and give them some encouragement for 90 mins and when we go two up tell them we can get four and keep the same shape.
