Oh my word - way to alienate yourself even further.  While you can never please everyone all of the time, surely some common sense would have responded to that question much better than that.

Surely this is better.

I feel like the supporters have been too harsh too soon with Stubbs and feel like I am in a bit of a minority sticking up for the bloke, but I don't think he has done himself any favours with those comments. I think I know what he is trying to say, but it doesnt come across well. You don't goad your own supporters in any cir***stances.

He only has to find it in himself to say, look guys, im sorry. We are in this together. Give me a chance . I am here to do my best and we will get it right...you know, just something helpful.
