everyone is comparing us to barnsley who have benefitted from the sale of john stones so have had a large wad of cash. they havent had to build a new stadium.

1) no one would come despite the package on offer as they didnt want a relegation fight plus warnock negative comments havent helped us either
2) the money wanted was way above the realist valuation of a player and no point buying for buying sake. maybe looking at free agents as a last resort
3) saving the money as emergency transfer fund for january
still at a loss why thorpe gone on loan . in my opinion he has promise but then we dont know about his attitude to playing etc
and smallwood again i cant understand either
and stubbs stop playing one up front spend the rest of break working on gelling the players
try 3 at the back now newell is back and play 3 5 2 cos we need two up front ward yates and halford
Could play three at the back but I don't think we have 2 wing backs with that much energy. Can't see any other way but 4-1-4-1
Halford or the new lad whos injured in the holding role and that lets the midfield players charge forward or play izzy in the no10 position with newall on the left. I'm not as concerned as most we've seen it all before and when was the last time we had an out n out striker who got us a hat full. I'll just enjoy the season and look forward to our promotion push after Xmas.
I'm concerned because it's by far the worst position we have been in and the noise from the club is odd.
Izzy will have to play much further forward and options include Halford. If not then we simply have no way to press or hold the ball and will be under pressure most of every game.
There has to be some serious tram spirit found very quickly. That I'm afraid is the only thing that will save us.
Squad not as strong as at the end of last year. Too many youngsters / lack of experience and quality. Need izzy playing up top with Ward and hope no one gets injured. Should have got a left back in - get Mattock back in team - kelly not a lb. Stewart regreting not getting a manager with championship experience i imagine. Stubbs on same page as Redfearn but we dont have luxury of having time for a 3 yr plan while staying in this league. Plus our best players are in on loan cant build much with them. Underwhelmed and finishing bottom. Think i,ll watch man u v city n stay in the pub next saturday ( despite having ST)
No brainer for me - I'm ****ed off but will still keep going. Who else would I support? If the pigs were in champions league they'd still be a worse option than my home town.
Surely TS and co will realise the reaction bound to come. What the hell are they thinking. If we don't have the money say so. If they don't trust Stubbs then get rid.
Why blame Stubbs? He identifies the players he wants, it's then over to others. You can guarantee he's more frustrated than any of us. But no let's blame him and get on his back tut tut. Supporters are so fickle. Two wins in the next two home games he's the bees knees two defeats and he's for the chop, he's building a team and as stated earlier he will be angry as anyone he's not been supplied with all the bricks he's asked for. Becauce of the dilly dallying over Warnock he was got in far too late to assess his squad and build but I suppose that's his fault as well. Give him time it's not his fault and let's see what happens in the next few months or we could just jump on his back.
Never said we should blame Stubbs. If the reason for not buying is because TS don't trust him than get someone he does. If anyone is to blame it is TS.
No point sacking AS - new manager stuck with his bargain buys and loans. As a club we aren't investing in a championship squad which is the major issue.
RUFC have never had one. They dont have a defined playing style and dont have a director of football who is knowledgeable and able to be the cohesive agent for the medium and long term development of the squad. when a new manager inevitable comes in then its all change because the manager dictates his style 100% and the board just sit idly by and do there best to meet the managers wishes. Thats the situation as far as I can tell at RUFC. On that Basis, stubbs has to take a large share of the responsibility because he is dictating the targets and the club let him know the valuation. Its not complicated. The wages of each individual is common knowledge and a quick call to an agent will tell you if you are in any doubt. Stunns (the manager) has said who he doesnt want and they have gone where possible and who he does want and these have come bar a striker that they have had more than enough time to think about...and decide not to buy because we offered 1.6 to millwall and 500k to walsall and decided not to do one (bradshaw) and not combine to do the other.
tough decisions but thats how it is.
stubbs is dictating this not TS.
TS is responsible for his own line of unprofessionalism and very poor communication but its stubbs thats got to get clued in and choose the job and targets I would have thought.
I am disappointed, but we are reaping what we sow.
On paper our team is a very good LG1 / top of the table every season team, but in the championship we are where we are because our business model doesn't fit the criteria for being in the championship. TS said that he had a 5 yr plan to be in the championship, i.e this season was yr5, but as you all know we arrived early, this in turn caused TS a problem, a BIG problem, which after the past 2 years of fighting to stay up is wearing thin on the fans, where is the money we got from staying up last season and the one before. £7m i was told, maybe more, and also i was told the money we got for promotion from LG1 TS did not let Evans anywhere near this money.
Where are the investors?? for TS to say on record that his vision is to have Rotherham United in the Premier League is one of the most ridiculous things any chairman would say especially as you need serious wealth to realise this ambition, you cant do a Bournemouth, where they cheated their way out of the League, and have a exiled russian business man Maxim Demin pumping money in.
I will be ready to eat my flat cap if AS pulls off what Warnock did but i am afraid personalities are getting in the way.
Cue Halford, Halford has an Ego, his number plate says so, but he is a good player, what he did for us last season buying time for the defenders by breaking up the midfield attacks was at time quite imperious, but he had to endure the idiocy of the Evans/Redfearn era, and Warnock because he is a good man manager, speaks to the man, gives him a job, he does it - we all smile, especially at Bristol City last season, when after being on a stretcher, gets up and continues, LEGEND, but he is not getting a start WHY!!!!
So TS, i travel a long way every fortnight to follow our team, we have a collective interest in the fortunes of the team, i invest my money same as you, but not on the same level, but get the scouting sorted out or by the December window you will have a lot of empty seats if the window closes and we have no striker, Strikers score goals simple. Go get one please.
