fantastic free kick from him last night. Of all the players we could have signed ( we thought his wage demand was too high, same as halfords now I think) this is the one we shoulD have got through the door.
I know what you mean and I do really like him. He does have significant defensive frailties though. If you compare his defensive work to an average championship defender I don't think he shines . Agree that he is excellent going forward .
There are a few wide defensive players who excel going forward at this level but do struggle with basic defending because of that.
Initially I was upset we couldn't get him but now I wouldn't have him due to that part of his game.
Let's be honest Tavs is a decent League 1 player but probably not good enough for the Championship.
He's pretty decent in the Scottish Premier League but then again you don't have to be a star to shine in that League.
With the exception of a few teams it's basically English League 1 standard.
