Going for a clean sheet ????

I expected us to get beaten tonight, but the lack of fight is the thing making me angry.....33% possession, three shots, zero on target, it just looks so easy for BHA, Villa Park mark 2!!!

As someone sat here enduring this rubbish we don't seem to be playing for anything. I can't tell if we are doing the passing game, long ball, hoof ball or try and get the ball. Once again Ward is non existent as a strike force and we are a yard slower in every position. If we get away from here without a caning I'll be surprised, very surprised.

 Gotta admit it aint looking good, as i said above we need another 6 players in, a complete defence who can defend (use this lot as back up) + 2 strikers who can ...... strike. At this point we are going to be shipping goals for fun n scoring none. Stats for this half show 0 shots on target :( :( :(

 You and all the other Millers fans at the Amex tonight have my undying admiration for enduring a 700 mile round trip to witness an almost certain drubbing, but the lack of fight and direction that is apparent is inexcusable. Stubbs needs our support & deserves a decent crack at the job but early indications seems to be Redfearn mark 2!!

I didn't expect anything from the last two games. However, the score lines and manner of the performances are a real point of concern, we sound woeful on player.

Positives;
We only lost the second half 1-0
we got two corners
we went up to 36% possession
we're not in the bottom 3 yet

Money talks in the Championship & this, our third season there (quite a considerable achievement for a club of our size) WILL sadly be our last. First impressions seems that we aren't & haven't recruited well, our manager is trying to impose a style of play that is completely alien to the majority of the players, especially the players that were here before Stubbs arrived. Also, no-one can expect the newbies to perform at Championship standard literally DAYS into their Millers careers.
Vaulks in the first 30 minutes v Wolves looked an exceptional talent, but has been largely anonymous since, JFC has been poor in every game I've seen, as has Allen, I'm not too hopeful about Ball & Fisher either, I think they & us will soon find out the gulf between English second tier football & Scottish football in general is MASSIVE.
Rant over, I am prepared to give the manager a fair crack at the job & hope this Brown guy from Chelsea reserves is the striker we've been craving since Agard left, but I'm not scared to say I have grave doubts & I'm ready for a long, painful & uncomfortable season ahead.

I said last month that August was our preseason. What did you all expect from Brighton and villa away and wolves at home. Players who don't know each other and a manager new to the championship. Give them time, support them and as TTB says (can't believe I'm agreeing with him) stop getting on their backs after 45 mins of football. I'll judge at Xmas and if we are still poor then I'm sure we will have a young energetic team ready for next seasons promotion push.

 What do I expect?  A team that can at least compete on the field even if we do end up losing.

We will be down by Christmas at this rate. Stubbs isn't a Redfern - Redfern had a style of play (wrong for us but still). Tonight we have had a crack at them all and all failed. Also why big up Yates and play him against Sunderland (scored) then don't bring him on when we are 3-0 down and dead & buried? If he needs game time and experience then bring him on when it's a lost cause, unless Stubbs thinks we can pull it round from 3-0 away. I'm far from convinced yet, and as I'm not the one hiring and firing I've no option but give him a chance. However, what's he gonna call for now? It was "nastier" after the last 3-0 so we were nastier and then played off the park. If Brighton could finish we would be looking at 6-0.

Spot on Fliker. It's three games. Yes of course we'd like to have more points and to have performed better. But they are tough games we've had immediately after we have had a clear out pre season and a major rebuild. I think we've got a good manager and some good players and given a bit of time and a bit of support we'll be fine. Calling the manager and rubbishing players after so few games is just ridiculous. There is a bit more to do personnel wise - we are definitely light up front - but that will be addressed I'm sure, and we have some good players coming back from injury. We have signed some good footballers. It will come together if we are patient. Keep the faith.
