September Needs to be 'our' month...

This has to be the ‘start’ of our season if we are going to survive. All the new guys will have settled in, plus maybe Newell and some others back from Injury, so some cause for optimism and the end of August and all through September has to be a time we get some serious points. In my opinion looking at these fixtures, it’s possible that we can pick up enough points to put us in mid table and take a bit of pressure off.

Potential  points tally, in my view is :

20/8  Home  Brentford  3 points

27/8  Away  Barnsley  1 or 3 points

10/9  Home  Bristol City  3 points

14/9  Home  Forest  1 or 3 points

17/9 Away  Blackburn  0 or 1 point

24/9  Home  Cardiff  3 points

27/9  Away  Hudders  0 or 1 point

So between 11 and 17 points ought to be our tally (and looking at those fixtures does not seem beyond belief) if we are to make a serious fist of staying out of the relegation zone, now wouldn’t that be nice! UTM

Every team this month you could probably make a convincing case of predicting them to have bottom half finishes by the end of the season. It's absolutely vital we start racking up some points, we need our first win desperately to give the team some confidence. Would be cracking to get it at Oakwell.

Oh god how insufferable is football heaven gonna be if Barnsley and the Massive are in the play-offs for most of the season while we tussle it out near the bottom disbelief

3 points a must against Brentford? They are 6th in the division and have had a great start to the season. Let's make sure we get a point and hope for 3.

I wouldn't say it's a 'must win' against Brentford, but we could do with a decent performance, especially in defence.

I'd probably take a 0-0 now to be honest!

I can see your point.

Maybe 1 point or 3 every home game?
Then 1 point or 3 every away game?

That points to success.

It's up for grabs.

As been said the bottom line is we need to come out of this month with at least a positive points tally of 11.

All the other teams look at us and say that this must be a win if we are too...so, we are the lame duck along with Button.  In our eyes we can just see a way out of the bottom 6.

In everyone else's eyes they can only see us getting relegated and expect nothing but a win against us.

Look at Barnsley fans predictions for Saturday and you'll see what I mean. They may be wildly inaccurate but that's how we ate perceived.

I long for a little respect at this level but I don't think we will ever get it.
