That tells its own story - we can't afford the type of striker we so severely need. Whether its cover / replace Danny Ward or to give Yates a nudge - its very perplexing. I'm surely Chelski would have put some kind of clause in as well to guarantee him games. 1 goal in 22 in the Dutch league is hardly inspiring either.

Yes it is a strange one. Is he really type of player that would be up for a relegation scrap?

Young, quick, strong, tricky striker who i saw score 2 at NYS for England. Could be a great signing for us.... This years Grant Ward ...?! Welcome Izzy !

By the way - I'm more than prepared to eat my hat with a knife & fork in his presence if not, but G.Ward it won't be!

He's a terrific prospect. Tipped by Mourinho to play for the full England team. He's basically a winger / midfielder that can play as a striker. Izzy has worn the No9 shirt for England Under 19s but more often than not he wears No11. I too remember him scoring two goals at NYS, England v Italy, the one we won 3-0. He has pace and can shoot with both feet, don't let his 1 goal in 22 games deceive you his record for England U19s is pretty good.

Welcome Izzy Brown, here's to a good season.

He is obviously rated as a talent and Chelsea must think he's ready for the Championship or they wouldn't expose him to it. Let's hope he has a good first half hour in his home debut. If not he'll get the same real Rotherham welcome afforded to Kelvin Wilson. Remember John Swift too? Written off on the basis of a nervy 45 minutes never to be seen again (except starring in a good Championship side elsewhere). Give the lad time to settle, don't expect miracles and get behind him.

 Spot on.

He is a winger not a striker and Stubbs has bought him with the intention of playing on the wing and providing service to the striker.

Well I was wrong in that assessment.  Was kicked and fouled all over the pitch last night and still got up and got stuck in.  This lad will be a fan favourite and a future premier league star.
