I sense an element of frustration from TS "We have information and the fans have none". I sympathise with him. He runs a club which has around 8,000 quasi shareholders, many of whom demand that he spends his money in every increasing amounts to buy in players who they think are suitable. Another element demands that he keeps quiet and doesn't announce anything until the player's signature is on the contract for fear that deeper purses will gazump us. Talk about a rock and a hard place. However, I imagine there's a silent majority, who don't feel the need to air their views on social media, who are grateful for the incredible investment TS has made in our club to place it in the fantastic position which it's currently in. These people will be content for TS and AS to do their utmost to ensure that RUFC assembles the best possible squad to give us the chance of another successful Championship season. We all consider ourselves to be die-hard Millers fans who want the best for the club. To this passion, add the fact that failure might affect your lifestyle and you begin to understand the investment that TS has in the club. Let's give TS and AS the space and respect they need to get their business done to the best of their ability. Onwards and upwards.

Quite agree Glenn, but I would suggest that the current disquiet is due to our particular predicament.

First we were managerless and the 8000 or so shareholders, which we are, were promised an experienced Championship manager, which didnt happen. Thats no disrespect to Stubbs at all, but he didn't fit the criteria set out by TS. If he didn't mean it, dont say it, particularly when all our nerves have been shot to pieces in two anxious seasons, and three previous managers in all that time.

Then we get the annual stadium extension news, which most of us dont expect to see anytime soon because we all realise that we are not in the position to fill the stadium every game and we would need to establish ourselves as a real Championship side playing regular attractive football before that scenario can be considered. So why try to bribe us with the big story.

We also realise that we cannot compete financially in the recruitment stakes and we also realise that £1million + is very high expenditure for the minnows that we are. I think it just shows what a great job TS and the board has done to get us in that position to be able to have that sort of money to spend on players. But I would also say that most of us would not expect him to throw that money around like a man with no arms on such a gamble that the modern game is. So again, most of us would agree, that it would be reckless to start to buy any old players just to buy someone. The two players who we were after may not be the ones for us, who knows, and thats ok. But its all the big talk that comes to nought.

Add all this to the fact that it seems we do not at this stage have a complete squad of players and at the mo are about 6 or 7 players short with only a few weeks to go before the start of the season, with only three player signed. Its understandable the investors are getting a little edgy. Now the 3 new players may be enough if we were an established side with just the odd new face to strengthen, you can hit the ground running. But we are in effect rebuilding.....again.

In all these cases what is being said is not what seems to be happening. Actions speak louder than words. The fans morale is being lifted, followed by disappointment and I feel it would be best to use cautious but optimistic language when promoting the club to the fans. Otherwise I fear many of the new/fringe supporters will get fed up of hearing the same old stories and pack it in leaving us with 'the faithful 3000'.

We have the season ticket holders signed and sealed for now, so there's no real worry about attendances. I'm still hopeful we will bring in some players but time is running out.

I'm with towdlad on this one, it's about misleading us not which players or ground changes we go for.
