When buying a car you do the research beforehand and compare it to others and read reviews and draw up a shortlist. We should have prepared a list of targets last season, surely we have a scouting function that is doing just that? - we knew players were out of contract and there was a danger of them leaving the club. It's like our whole scouting function has identified two players we can't afford, or worse, we just looked who performed well in L1. The PL must have a number of players available on season long loans - why don't we bring Grant Ward back? He ain't going to get near the Spurs team so will have to be farmed out somewhere.

I remember back in the day when teams wore their own colours except when the colours clashed with the opposition. More frequently it was just a change of shorts and/or socks. Although I do remember a game at Millmoor, the opposition was I believe Blackpool? When the colours clashed to such an extent the ref made the away side change into Rotherhams away kit.

Eee them were t'days
