This is bitterly disappointing and I'm really annoyed I've been proved right.

So reminiscent of recent seasons transfer exploits. The only thing we can hope for is that if either of them do play in the Championship, they both do a May and fail spectacularlyrics.

I'm very intrigued to know who thelse other targets are...

Don't panic Mr Manwering..

But would we want to pay over the odds for league one players. It's frustrating for all involved but there are plenty of quality players biding their time. Unfortunately it's the way of the football world, pay over the odds early on or wait for the player desperation week just before the window closes. Better than the scattergun approach thoughtful and measured.

Same old, same old from the chairman.
This is getting really tedious, oh and how embarrassing for a Championship club to have to cancel a friendly against a League 2 side because we don't have enough players!
Don't worry though, everything is going to be tickety boo in the next 7-10 days!

If they weren't worth it why bother going for them in the first instance?

I dont mind reading that we're interested in player X & Y, but then bragging about how much we've offered because we're going places and then getting the knock back. Its embarrassing

These are the facts from the horses mouth...I honestly think well done-we couldnt have done anymore.

I think towdlad they were worth it at the price Stubbs thought they could get them for but theres a big difference between a bid you think should be good and one the club sets...it happens to Real Madrid even...

Dont waste money on unproven players ! IE Bowery and JCH. Get lads in that we know can do a job at this level - IE Derbs and Best. How much for ALF ? I'd look at Kenwyne Jones.

Im actually of the same thinking.

I know derbs and best have gone and thats the managers prerogative but I would have kept both

I didn't want Best a bad penny. Derbs gave everything, what did he have left. Didn't want Kelly. Rest of re-leased players agree totally with it.

On an optimistic note.. I know he's been mentioned before, what about Matt Taylor from Brissol Rovers?

Jamie Vardy was at Fleetwood and look where he went. Ricky Lambert at Brissol Rovers too. Matt Taylor is expected to leave and he has scored goals for fun the last 2 years albeit in a couple of divisions down.

Couldn't hurt to put a cheeky bid in could it??

Scrub that. He's just signed a new contract with Rovers!
