here we go...only one post I found interesting on walsall forum; "good league 1 player with potential to be fantastic, but not yet".

Isn't it what Stubbs is good at, picking a player with potential and nurturing it. Let's be honest we arnt going to pay the million plus required to buy a reasonably established championship player which leaves the young untried with potential or the end of career journeyman. We are going to need a mixture of experience and youth so if Stubbs thinks he can do something with him then I'm behind him all the way. Nice to see youth and pace on the wing.

A young wide player with pace would fit the description of one type of player we need. I don't know the player but generally speaking this is the sort of signing that we have to look at. As a rule we cant spend big money on proven Championship quality players unless they are past their peak, and there is no future in churning those sort of players over year on year. There are some good players around in the lower leagues. Three years ago Andre Gray was at Luton and Vardy at Fleetwood. Lets hope Alan Stubbs has an eye for a player.

Anyone know whats happening with Thorpe? Came with good recommendation and never really seemed to get much of a chance what with managerial shuffles and relegation battles etc. I think he still has a year left on his contract and would like to see what he can do.
