You are correct but we new that. There may be the odd 200k player from div 1-2 but that's your lot I think.

it appears we are biding our time to get the right player (we can't afford any so we will wait and see what's left over). So if you have an out of contract player, a slightly injury prone one you can't risk anymore or a slightly over the hill one who may just have one more season in him please post that players name so our chief scout can cast an expert eye over him and ascertain if he is exactly what we are looking for.
Ps we don't pay much over 5k a week plus unlimited pukka pies. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

This is what I posted on the league website. There has been several suggestions to help us along.

Yes it's slow but our local teams aren't doing much either, other than signing out of contract jailbirds, which used to be our speciality.

I'm a little concerned as like most others I believe we'll be shopping in the bargain basement again, but if Evans had been in charge we'd have signed a dozen dumplings by now.
The rhetoric coming from the club is that Stubbs has got irons in the fire, he's supposedly negociated with people etc etc but it'll be footballs equivilant of Poundland where we'll be shopping.

We are by nature bottom feeders. If you're u want high waged high quality players you are on the wrong path. The snake pass is a clue.

We are not going to throw millions around on buying established quality players. Other clubs with more money than us will be in that market and we will struggle to compete for transfer fees, wages and glamour. We need to recruit smartly from lower leagues, perhaps younger players available from top end clubs, perhaps good quality from overseas, and longer term bringing our own players through. No more recruiting by the bucketload of injury prone established players who are past their best. We have to understand what we are and plan accordingly. No more administrations and points deductions etc thanks. It may be possible to do ok within our means.

Maybe it is all just a cunning savings plan? biggrin

At the end of the season we had 25 (ish) players on the books, we now have 11. Even being conservative, that's a saving of at least £2500 per player, per week (If the Derbs and Best salary rumours are true, possibly a lot more?) . That's a minimum of £35,000 saving every week in wages alone!

Sign no one all season and we will be minted.............. be in division 1 but, you can't have everything  biggrin

Cheer up chaps, business will start soon.....I think/hope!!!

Beautiful! I think we should be able to get 2 high quality championship players with that.  We wont be able to put a bench out but like most people who see the mistakes of the past point out,  its useless buying loads of crap.

I reckon we could win the league with 14 players.

Im sure Man u or Liverpool must have won the title at some point in their history with a similar number

Forest won the First Division Title using about 15 players (maybe wrong) in total, so maybe Stubbs is the new Brian clough, quality over quantity LOL
