There are quite a few new laws of the game. Stopping a goal scoring opportunity has been reduced from a straight red to a mandatory yellow if it wasn't deliberate. You can now legally score an own goal from kick off.
It's hard to imagine what led to this change of rule. Who asked for it and why? For some teams it's one of the few opportunities to get into the opposition's half!
On the whole I reckon the refereeing at Euro 2016 has been good. Most games have been allowed to flow and most of the refs have not been seeking to be the centre of attention. Diving by players seems to be going out of fashion as well.
