Good luck to him, his winner at the sty ensures his place in Millers folklore. Tryer but hardly prolific but a vital part of our first two Championship seasons. Now come on Stubbsie, sign someone soon!!!!

Not sorry to see him go, he may do better elsewhere, but yes, good luck to the lad, he did his bit, a grafter and lets remember him for the goals he did score.

Ah dear old Cyprus, my place of birth.

Good luck Derbs and thanks, when in Nicosia have a pop over to the Turkish side of the city, it makes Rotherham look modern and attractive.

Derbs will actually be playing home games at the GSP stadium which is a shared round with APOEL and the Cyprus national team, a ground about twice the size of NYS.

Their third kit used to be red, not sure what it is now.

No, my parents were in the diplomatic service and posted there.

Despite our lowly league position I think MD has been a positive and at times key figure for us.

Id like to have kept him without a shadow of doubt.

I must admit that it concerns me that we couldn't tempt him to stay, or was it a case of the manager didnt want him ?

Probably how much he expected to be paid.

I've had some decent pies at NYS but I wouldn't pay £10 each for them.

I suspect we've offered him much reduced terms and he has secured a better offer. Fair wnough on both counts. For long spells he's been pretty ordinary but at times he has had decent runs of scoring. On the whole he's done ok but no better. My acid test for a striker is this - imagine its level, last minute, one one one with the keeper, do I fancy him to score? For example would he have put away the chance Frecks buried against Boro in the 90th minute? Honestly in Derbyshire's case the answer would be no.

Average at best but I always admired his commitment.
