This site seems to be permanently hijacked by Journalists from the Star & Advertiser & I'm getting a bit fed up of it. We're perfectly capable of logging on to their relevant websites if we so wish without having their contributions rammed down our throats. Sorry but I thought MB was set up to be a fansite.
It helps build up the RUFC family and it's really great to get comments from Paul and Joe and be able to give them personal feedback. Surely that's a great honour !
Also it really helps when one is only on a mobile site as I am 90% of the time as it's in one place and I can view comments and interact with other fans re their opinions about the article.
I can't see one negative Brad. And Paul is clearly a fan with RUFC and sport in his heart...whatever his background.
It's a great honour and service they provide to our much maligned site. Thank you to Paul and Joe for taking the time to post. .I think they post more than you Brad. ..😁😈😇

Yeah they probably do but I've got a life. My comments still stand though, all the journos are doing is providing links to their own websites. Most of us fans know the Star & Advertiser & we fans can log on to said websites whenever we choose, all the journos are doing in effect is promoting their own employers instead of giving their own opinions as the rest of us do but hey, it's all about opinions innit? Whilst I don't agree with your opinion ian, I respect it..........UTM
I have to agree with Brad - sometimes they post articles that are the same thing - when that happens normally people just say post on the original thread.
Plus it's really just a ploy to get you onto the relevant website. Presumably, the star posts similar articles on all local football websites.
I think if the rules were post the text and add a link to find out more then they would disappear. Just to post a hyperlink every time is surely an abuse of an interactive forum.
Do they ever interact and follow up comments to their posts???
I know where Brad is coming from on this although I dont mind it too much but there is a good deal of old news, revamped, repackaged, and presented as news, when actually its old hat.
Can't really ban them for directing our attention to news stories - particularly as they're relevant to RUFC and often insightful. There's one berk who tried spamming on here and he quickly got booted. I don't mind a post alerting our attention to something (still giving us the choice to follow it or not), but when its a repeat of the same thing over and over again - I take issue with that. All of Paul's and Joe's posts to an article are only posted once. It is indeed an honour they see it fit that our site is worth their time and effort.
I don't think it's an honour, it's an outlet for publicity for a commercial operation, and it could be automated so not an actual visit.
I get emails from Microsoft telling me about their new stuff all the time but I don't consider it an honour to have been selected for comms by such a huge corporation.
I know we can just ignore the posts but sometimes the list is full of them, and the articles can be quite bland - just regurgitating official news that is on the RUFC site.
I'd love to read a proper article where they challenge some of the rhetoric and stats, e.g. Top 6 comments. Seriously, if one of us had heard that we would have questioned its legitimacy by asking about budgets and stuff. We have scraped to safety in both years and rode our luck doing so, no new £ into the club but we now claim an untried (in England) manager is going to make the play-offs, how? They should ask that.
Personally, I don't mind it at all, saves me looking all over the place for Millers news. Brad is however right on a couple of points, a lot of the news is sometimes repeated and/or old but, the site is not exactly inundated with hundreds of posts every day so, I think it adds to the interest of the forum and its your choice if you read the article or not.

yes they have done Yorkshire. I personally quite like it that they take time to come on here.
Take the opportunity I would say to ask tehm to look at articles you'd like to see or even ask some questions of interest too you or speak to some players that interest you.

yes, and tother day they posted a link to the you tube interview with the new manager I would have missed as I check the main website all the time but it was on youtube several hours before the official site which was really helpful

They can but perhaps not that blunt. The few journalists that try that in football quickly get booted out of the press room...however one can always ask the reporters for some insights and to pose some questions in the direction you would like to see developed.
