Wonder what they did with the 20,000 cardboard cut outs that they took to make the Owls contingent up to 40,000 shame really !! But at least they can now sell owls shirts for a more meaningful use ....Bog Roll !!
We are on our way back.
We deserved it coz we bigger.
Straw man...where on earth are they on their way back to anyway...hardly ever pulled up any trees against the really big clubs. Bizarre and unevidenced based beliefs.
I didn't really mind if Wednesday went up to be honest, so this isn't a gloating dig, but Wednesday supporters seem confused. They don't know whether they are a big club or not. They should have been top six with what they spent and the resources they have, and only just squeaked into the playoffs. They got lucky at every turn against Brighton in the play off semi. The play off final was the most one sided one nil I've seen for a while. Anyone would think they were heroic, overachieving underdogs. They weren't. They are still an underachieving club struggling to get back to where only they think they belong. In my opinion the top end of the Championship was as weak this year as its been for a while, and Wednesday have missed the boat. The fact that they are so happy to have had a near miss perhaps shows that they really know that they actually aren't a 'big club' any more.
Sickly, its time to disown him Im afraid. you must end your pain. Not only must you question his sanity and intelligence but now his mood has turned some what periodic...please help his and your pain...may I suggest pretending he is a Man Utd fan when you talk to him or perhaps a Real Madrid fan...you can both be happy with the mutual delusion and no harm will be done to the wild life.
If Wednesday had gone up then they would be a big club. They didn't so they aren't.
Next Season will see approximately a 16 Million turnover. If they had gone up it would have been over a 100 Million. If they went down straight after there are 70 Million in Parachute payments. So they are not a big club.
I have not met a single Wednesday fan who thought that Hull didn't deserve it so fair play to them for that.
And you have to admit, at home to Brighton with the mobile phones it looked good.
Overall you have to say they enjoyed the ride, but failed at the last hurdle. Which makes it funny.
you have to feel sorry for them, they play in a ground that was grand in the 70's, a place that will be remembered for the sad deaths of 96 liverpool fans (they should change the name now). The stadium needs at least £15m spent on it and no matter what anyone says the chairman won't spend that until the TV money is there to pay for it. Next year will be harder to make the top 6 and only 1st or 2nd is a guarantee of premier league football, the pressure is on the manager next year, these foreign chairman don't like failure, they buy clubs as investments not a hobby. A poor start and the axe will be out, the wednesday fans are the biggest moaners in the area, they moan when they win never mind when they lose.
They are no bigger in terms of history than Forest, Derby, Wolves, Norwich, Leeds, Ipswich, Fulham etc and Villa and Newcastle are much bigger clubs. They need to stop with the massive crap and accept they are where they deserve to be and large Championship club, you aren't famous anymore......if in fact you ever were
that rare breed the bragging wednesday owl has gone extinct. cant find one anywhere. there was some hooting to me and a barnsley fan about 12 points next season.
but it soon faded under a barrage of millers, tykes and blades abuse lol
