Could Kirk Broadfoot be in the Premier League next season?

Hey All,

I don't know about you, but I have been very impressed with Kirk Broadfoot this season in the Championship.

I was wondering what you all thought?

Well, I think he is good enough for the Premier League and they will come calling for him this summer!

I was online earlier and found an article linking him and other Championship stars with the big time next season.

It's well worth a read if you have a few mins!

The content writer openly admits at the end, the names are not mainstream and those mentioned in the list are 'to get conversations going'. - in other words to obtain website hits and / or agents fees?

While '#Kirky Broadfoot is the love of our life....' - and for us he's been outstanding - that list is pretty laughable.

On the topic, KB - we were laughed at by Blackpool fans, who's laughing now? - People don't often mention this but if you watch him he is as cool & comfortable on the ball as a certain Kari Arnason was. KA however was lucky enough to be an ever present for a plucky little national team who despite the odds made it to a major Championship, a country who have invested heavily in their youth infrastructure. KB doesn't have that opportunity. If Campy hadn't got player of the season, KB would definitely have been up there with a shout. How many centre halves do you know of are clever enough to win penalties in the opposition box?

Great season KB please give us another a year at least!

I think the short answer is 'no'.

He is a decent Championship centre back, prone to the odd mistake, lacking pace, who has done well for us this season and is a long way down the list of players we should think of replacing.

I would be planning for a back four next season built around Kirky at centre back and Joe Mattock at left back.

I think Kelly is a decent utility defender, possibly cover at centre back and right back when needed.

We need a first choice right back with pace to cover who offers something going forwards, and a first choice centre half to pair with Kirky, again with a bit of pace to cover.
