Do we not listen anymore?

And so, the voice boomed out over the PA system several times inside the New York Stadium asking all supporters

present not to run on to the pitch at the end of today's game against Blackburn Rovers.

The announcer informed those who chose to listen that the players would do a lap of honour after the game had finished.

At one point the announcer used the words 'pitch incursion'.

Maybe those words threw some of the less well educated cretins who were hell bent on running on to the pitch come what

may.

As some of you know already there was a pitch invasion.

Some of the nuisances even made their way to the away end to bait the Blackburn fans.

Nice.

I'll even bet that some of their teachers struggled to communicate with some of them inside the classroom.

And therein lies the problem these days, i don't want to get too deep into the wrongs of society, but for generations a whole group of people have been used to getting their own way, and to not having any comeback for their misdemeanours at all, making them, in their eyes, untouchable, that's why they don't think they're doing anything wrong, might sound a simplistic view, but in my view that's exactly what's wrong today.

it was inevitable that the pitch would be invaded. Why I honestly don't know. if you stood back and watched the people who ran on the pitch ..... deary me.

I was angry at the time, because the way the announcers were going of it was likely at one stage that the players wouldn't be able to come back out, but thankfully they did and we were able to give them the thanks and praise they rightfully deserve.

I was walking behind 3 "fans" on the way out who was moaning because they had to leave the pitch going "I only wanted to have a bit of fun - whats wrong with people"

If only they could ask the same question about themselves....
