I think we all expect him to move on as its what loan players do and to some extent perhaps its felt that is always the best way to prepare them for their future.

However, I would imagine its easy to make an argument for him staying as he certainly would get game time here and latterly he has played in a position that suits. maybe that guarantee might persuade him but maybe his handlers might have other ideas.

I hope we can keep him. His time with us has not gone unnoticed at Spurs particularly his contribution since Warnocks arrival and as I understand it he is happy here with us. But the lad has to look to his own future and be fair to himself, I guess its down to what deal his agent wants for him, and that as we know is not always for the best career wise.

For a young inexperienced player he has done incredibly well in a high pressure situation. He has been the only player in the squad with real pace and an outlet on the break so he has been important to us. He is really promising but not the finished article by a long chalk. So if he goes he goes with enormous thanks, but it won't be the end of the world. If he stays, that would be great.

Problem is we cannot build a future on loan players. Bournemouth broke the rules on fairplay and are untouchable in the premier league at the moment.

We are where we are, punching above our weight, in every department. so to entice players to the club does make it easier with a good well known manager at the helm.

But if Grants last game is at Hull, i will thank the lad for the efforts and the professionalism in adversity, it will make him a better player overall.

by the end of May we could or could not have Warnock in charge, but we can all go on Hollibobs knowing we have the likes of Villa home and away, now i never thought that would happen in my lifetime.

We are a well run club, lets not rock the boat.

With the best will in the world,if I were him I would be looking for a better/bigger club for next season.The better the players round him the better he will look.

A couple of quick further thoughts. Playing in a team that has battled to avoid relegation will have helped Grant Ward's development no end. In a lot of games towards the end of the season he has run himself into the ground and he deserves massive praise. He needs to work on getting his head up sometimes and on his final ball/cross. He has a lot of promise. I think myself he will end up playing as an attacking central midfielder not as a winger. My understanding is that he might spend next season at a Championship club nearer to London (Brentford?) but we will see. Thanks to him for all his efforts.
