Keep off the pitch??????

Its fairly cringe worthy isn't it.

Yes the game was flat, we probably expected that. The 'morons' were queueing up in between the ad boards from the 90th minute - up the stairs, from my viewpoint most of them were under 23 and most of them probably had a bit of fizzy pop in them that they can't handle. I think it's endemic with the sport. Football bends its appeal to all walks of society which is great, but its accessibility of participation is a great vehicle to give the proles meaning to their often drab and monotonous existence. In Roman times they used Gladiators, in our times its football. I remember when Steelers won the league on the last game of last season against Cardiff who had they won would have won the title. The scenes at the end were incredible, and yes its ice - but nobody was attempting to clamber onto the pitch - although yes the plexiglass might have something to do with that!

I wonder what the players think of it. It's a day of personal and family celebration for them, its gorgeous that they bring their kids on, Besty, D.Ward & Kirky Broadfoot were a delight - literally showing their kids 'look this is what Daddy does' and 'look at all these people who think Daddy has done a good job' - how many of us can get our kids to even care what Daddy does and the affect his efforts have on others. Its brilliant for them, must create a real family bond. But the 'morons' don't realise any of this. It is utterly selfish. They can go on the pitch once all & sundry have left the playing surface and done their lap of honour. I wonder if all these people were the ones as kids who can't contain themselves on Christmas morning. I also noticed that the players were clapping all those in the upper reaches of the stands, knowing these are the people who can contain themselves and appreciate their efforts, both as our object of entertainment and as family men.

Unfortunately without electric fencing - it will never be stopped & it doesn't just happen with us, its year on year up and down the country.

On another topic - did David Hurst score yesterday
