That's how Andy Burnham MP described South Yorkshire Police today in Parliament.

 

He also mentioned Rotherham and Orgreave in the same speech.

South Yorkshire Police still have several 'ongoing investigations' in relation to the Rotherham CSE scandal.

 

John Mann MP for Bassetlaw called for South Yorkshire Police to be 'disbanded'.

 

Will Justice be seen to be done though?

 

I'm not holding my breath.

Woeful, corrupt and inept. if no one gets prosecuted for this and other failures then it is a joke.

Andy Burnham gave an excellent speech. SYP needs an immediate review of its leadership and culture. If people inside or outside SYP have behaved criminally then they should be brought to book. John Mann however does my nut in. In my view (speaking as a socialist who lives in his constituency) the bandwagon hasn't been created yet that he wouldn't find a way to jump on. He is from the Jeremy Kyle school of politics - quick to condemn with sweeping statements but short on substance. Just my opinion.

John Mann is a disgrace if you ask me, he must have an ulterior motive for his outburst at Ken Livingstone, but for a sitting MP to behave like that, to one of his own party, in full view of the media, is quite frankly ridiculous.

Onto SYP, if anyone had any doubts about the culture at SYP that has been bred into it from the miners strike onwards, listen to the retired police officer on the news today, who insists that the jury was wrong in saying fans wernt to blame, scandalous once again.

SYP are an utter disgrace. I'm sure they aren't alone. Our police force is becoming a joke and a national tragedy.

I want to see Joyce Thacker held to account. She was responsible (irresponsible) beyond belief. I said that on Millers Mad 5 years before this came out.
