WEEK 44

With just 3 more weeks to go Oneaday has a significant but not insurmountable lead from Unifier and S8. All 3 deserve their chance for glory in these final weeks after leading a very consistent and at times stunning campaign. S8, and Oneaday have both spent time at the summit for long periods but Unifier to his teams credit has never had a more than one bad performance before sending his team out to justify the chairman's season long faith. But, perhaps no one deserves more credit than Oneaday. His team have showed flare going forward and an ability to exploit others weakness when it most matters-the sign of a true winner.

At the bottom Worcester and Andy have been in a toe-to-toe slugging match but both have recently had some exceptional results that have dragged the once 'safe as houses' GHF close to the blooded blows than now see his teams shirts covered in Scarlett. 

TLA, had a hugely impressive run but recent distraction off the field have seen her campaign splutter to a disappointing finale. Only pride to play for now and we shall see in these final 3 games how much pride and fight there might be for next season.

Exeter and Ian, once darlings of the league are both scratching their heads as they preside over an abdication as unexpected as the Queen turning up in "wife does best friend" ****o flick. Exeter has lamented long and often while Ian has relied on slinking off into the pack of the league hoping no one will notice his once proud boasts. Likewise, the lovable rouge that is MMM, has had perhaps the most disappointing of all campaigns. Perhaps his teams impressive form last season was a one off but many pundits predicted a very strong challenge this year-it simply has not materialised.

Many have fallen by the wayside in this the worlds greatest prediction league. No less than 145 competitors started out but only 10 have stayed the course.  No wonder its lovingly referred to as the Grand National of predictions leagues.

What might have been if Tony, T/C and Flicker had continued their impressive form? 

Nez, clearly hugely talented would have surely challenged with some thinking he would have walked the league...

And the ineffable PIDG and The strident 'THE KID' leaving the fray with impressive mathematical averages. 

Problems with our overseas sister league scuppered Sickly Childs coughing and spluttering challenge , while Heman left the party post haste after seeing the giants he was up against.

so, 3 weeks to go to save face, crown heads with glory and walk into the sunset knowing you did not falter when the going got tough.
