Thoughts On Forest

We didn't play well at all. We created very little. Our only real threat was from set pieces and how Wood didn't score I don't know. Best improved second half but otherwise the front three were ineffective and I thought looked off the pace. No criticism intended - they have all put so much in recently. If I was NW I would change the entire front three for Tuesday and go with any three from Thomas, D Ward, JCH and Newell just for fresh legs. Mendes the Forest winger was the best player on the pitch by a distance and it is a good job he couldn't finish. Forest have a few Big Time Charlies who seem (mistakenly) to think they play for a big club and want to spend more time reffing the game than playing in it. Chief among them Lansbury, who gave a disgraceful performance. He needs to realise he isn't at Arsenal now and never will be again. You can't have an attitude like that if you haven't got the game to match. All in all a hard fought and valuable point in the sort of game we would probably have lost earlier in the season.

Ryan Mendes is on a season long loan with Forest, loaned from Lille. Indeed he was the stand out player yesterday.      Not sure how the loan system is changing next season but if possible Mendes is the quality type of player we need to target. We are limited to the way we play but let's not forget the Warnock way has stopped us conceding silly goals. I thought a point each was a fair result and I reckon Forest are in a false position in the League table. Lansbury will never alter he's always been the same.

Tuesday night I expect D.Ward to start, it's his former club and will have a few points to prove. (hopefully ). I would like  to see Jerome Thomas to start as well, not seen enough of him to judge whether he's worth a pay per play deal next season or even to offer him a 12month contract.

I would agree with your summation smiler. It was a tired looking performance from us and an atmosphere that had a bit of the 'day after the Lord Mayor's Parade' feel about it following the high tempo performance and backing the team got down at the Stadium:MK. But having said that we created several goal worthy chances and on another day Wood could have had two if not three goals. A point in the end was fair and I am happy with that as it keeps MK at the same distance from us with one fewer to play.

Fresh legs tues. JCH for Best, D Ward for Derbyshire. If Frecks isn't 100% match fit why risk him Newell in. R back Richardson for Kelly.

I thought we did quite well overall. Second half we seemed to be the team that carried the biggest threat and forest only had very short spells pressing. Forest seemed to give in around 75 minutes. Very unprofessional and I can see why they are where they are. A poor team I thought.

Best seemed to real improve second half for me and maybe even his best outing overall.

Defence was pretty good again and camp is just so good.

Keep Kelly in the starting eleven as we've not lost when he's started.
